comment on [Results] 14 weeks on 5mg, full numbers, ask me anything boring in c/glp1muscle · 19 points · 10 months ago

That is a trial average in a supervised population and you are comparing your own scan to it.

comment on small win: nausea stopped being a problem at week 35 in c/sideeffects · 18 points · 10 months ago

Yes. Holding the dose is a real option and it does not mean you have failed at anything.

comment on switched from 1.0mg to 2.4mg and fatigue got better, not worse in c/sideeffects · 42 points · 10 months ago

Correction: that is a known effect of reduced intake rather than a direct drug effect. The distinction matters because the fix is different.

comment on sulphur burps: what the trials say vs what this community says in c/sideeffects · 70 points · 11 months ago

early fullness for the first eight days after each step, then nothing, every single time. Predictable enough that I started planning my week around it.

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring lean mass at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/glp1muscle · 81 points · 11 months ago

Three scans over eighteen months, same machine, same conditions. Only the third one made the first two interpretable.

permalink

comment on nobody warned me about food noise and I would have liked the warning in c/sideeffects · 352 points · 12 months ago

sulphur burps are unpleasant and they are not dangerous

research-use-only material is not approved for human use, full stop

permalink

comment on triple agonist is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/retatrutide · 311 points · 1 year ago

Same read. The energy-expenditure mechanism is the interesting bit and it is not established in humans at scale.

permalink

comment on someone explain reflux to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/sideeffects · 86 points · 1 year ago

muscle cramps for the first eight days after each step, then nothing, every single time. Predictable enough that I started planning my week around it.

permalink

comment on the lean mass thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/glp1muscle · 13 points · 1 year ago

Push back: strength dropping in a deficit is not the same as lean mass loss. Related, not identical.

comment on [Question] timeframe — what am I missing here in c/progresspics · 17 points · 1 year ago

comparison is the thief of everything on a board like this

permalink

comment on resistance training — 15 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/glp1muscle · 1 points · 1 year ago

Disagree — slower loss does not automatically preserve lean mass. Protein and training do the work, not the rate on its own.

permalink

comment on [Question] DEXA — what am I missing here in c/glp1muscle · 36 points · 1 year ago

This. Same machine, same protocol, or the DEXA comparison is measuring the scanner.

permalink

comment on [Lab] split one vial across VendorInvestigate and PeptideMeter — 98.6% and 93.7% in c/retatrutide · 34 points · 1 year ago

Yes — the comparison threads are apples to oranges and they generate more heat than anything else here.

permalink

comment on the heart rate thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/sideeffects · 178 points · 1 year ago

muscle cramps on day two and gone by day four is the standard shape

permalink

comment on stalled for 12 weeks at 10mg and I refuse to panic this time in c/retatrutide · 44 points · 1 year ago

Disagree. "More receptors means more effect" is not how any of this works and the trial data does not support the linear story.

permalink

comment on triple agonist: the version I wish someone had shown me in week 1 in c/retatrutide · 1 points · 1 year ago

Not convinced. You are attributing a week of food noise to the glucagon arm when the escalation rate alone would explain it.

comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about dose escalation until somebody posts a number in c/retatrutide · 309 points · 1 year ago

a lot of the confident posting here is extrapolation

search first, but a repeat question is not a crime

comment on [PSA] basics are not what most of this community thinks it is in c/newbiequestions · 51 points · 1 year ago

Which country? Half the answers here only apply in one place.

comment on [PSA] sulphur burps are not what most of this community thinks it is in c/sideeffects · 635 points · 1 year ago

Has anything else changed in the same window?

Disagreeing with this one line: that symptom is not on the wait-and-see list and should not be posted as though it is.

permalink

comment on what changed for me between month 7 and month 12 in c/newbiequestions · 190 points · 1 year ago

Nothing on this board is medical advice, and the people answering you — including me — are members with spreadsheets rather than clinicians.

permalink

comment on the constipation question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/sideeffects · 5 points · 1 year ago

Agreed. Slowing down at meals did more for my early fullness than everything I bought to fix it, which was embarrassing to discover.

permalink

comment on [Results] 44 weeks on 12.5mg, full numbers, ask me anything boring in c/glp1muscle · 22 points · 1 year ago

grip strength and lift numbers are cheap longitudinal markers

permalink

comment on [Meta] the heart rate rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/sideeffects · 15 points · 1 year ago

Nobody warned me about early fullness and I would have liked the warning. It was not dangerous, it was just deeply unpleasant and completely unexpected.

permalink

comment on resistance training is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/glp1muscle · -22 points · 1 year ago

the same DEXA machine or it is not a comparison

permalink

comment on how much of what we believe about moderation actually comes from wiki threads in c/meta · 97 points · 1 year ago

Submissions older than a year are archived: readable, linkable, and closed to new comments. That keeps a three-year-old thread from being reopened with a reply nobody will see in context.

permalink

comment on is it normal to get constipation at week 11 in c/newbiequestions · 69 points · 1 year ago

Research-use-only material is not approved for human use. That is a plain statement of regulatory fact and it belongs in every beginner thread.

permalink

comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about fatigue until somebody posts a number in c/sideeffects · 15 points · 2 years ago

holding a dose an extra month is a legitimate answer to bad tolerance

permalink

comment on milestone — 11 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/progresspics · 10 points · 2 years ago

Circumference measurements often continue changing during a scale plateau because composition changes are not visible on a bathroom scale.

permalink

comment on [Results] 26 weeks, 5kg, and dose escalation was the hard part in c/retatrutide · 261 points · 2 years ago

the escalation is where most of the reported trouble sits

permalink

comment on [Results] 26 weeks, 5kg, and dose escalation was the hard part in c/retatrutide · 1 points · 2 years ago

Push back: quoting the phase 2 headline as an expected outcome is not a fair reading of a small trial with wide intervals.

permalink

comment on three years of what is threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/newbiequestions · 217 points · 2 years ago

That comparison is between two different products at two different concentrations, which is where the confusion is coming from.

permalink

comment on how much of what we believe about heart rate actually comes from reflux threads in c/sideeffects · 127 points · 2 years ago

I would be careful here. "Everyone gets this" is not true, and it makes the people who get something unusual assume they are fine when they should be asking.

permalink

comment on [Lab] 2th independent test on BCH — 97.8% on a claimed 97.5%, and the trend is the interesting part in c/retatrutide · 82 points · 2 years ago

Cosigning the escalation point. Almost every difficult report on this board is from somebody who went up quickly.

permalink

the injection-site soreness that arrives at week 78 out of nowhere is usually something else

permalink

comment on someone explain nausea to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/sideeffects · 201 points · 2 years ago

injection-site soreness for the first eight days after each step, then nothing, every single time. Predictable enough that I started planning my week around it.

permalink

comment on week 19 check-in — 9kg down, early fullness manageable, one thing confusing me in c/retatrutide · 147 points · 2 years ago

Agreed, and the framing that helps is: this is a phase 2 compound with phase 3 running. Everything else is inference.
