comment on [Win] approved after i sent them their own policy criteria back in c/insurancefights · 2 points · 8 days ago

Documented eighteen months of what had been tried in a one-page table. That table was the appeal.

non-scale victories count and they are the ones people remember

comment on [Discussion] denial reason codes decoded, mostly fixable paperwork in c/insurancefights · 1 points · 16 days ago

Correction: that is a formulary exclusion, not a prior authorisation denial. Different form, different route, different deadline.

What are you planning to watch for, and over what period?

the habits are what has to carry it afterwards

comment on [Struggle] hit goal and immediately felt worse. did not expect that. in c/progresspics · 1 points · 1 months ago

Nothing on this board is medical advice, and rate, target and method are questions for somebody who knows your history.

comment on what would you tell week-1 you about fatigue in c/sideeffects · 1 points · 2 months ago

Are you eating in the couple of hours before you sleep?

comment on small win: non-scale victory stopped being a problem at week 61 in c/progresspics · 11 points · 2 months ago

the clothes change before the number does

permalink

comment on why does nobody talk about gallbladder in c/sideeffects · 150 points · 3 months ago

Severe or persistent abdominal pain sits outside the pattern this board can usefully discuss. The honest answer there is that it needs someone who can examine you.

comment on [PSA] milestone is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/progresspics · 75 points · 3 months ago

Gently disagree with the framing — that is not a plateau, that is a month. They are different things.

goal weights chosen at week one are usually guesses

permalink

comment on stalled for 11 weeks at 15mg and I refuse to panic this time in c/tapering · 17 points · 3 months ago

Agreed that returning later is common and it is treated here as ordinary rather than as a defeat.

permalink

comment on constipation: the version I wish someone had shown me in week 1 in c/sideeffects · 31 points · 3 months ago

Constipation is mostly reduced intake plus reduced fluid, not a direct effect. That is why the boring fibre and water answer keeps working.

permalink

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify gallbladder in c/sideeffects · 0 points · 3 months ago

Yes — the day-two-to-day-four window is so consistent across this board that it is almost diagnostic.

permalink

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify gallbladder in c/sideeffects · 44 points · 3 months ago

Small fix — the shedding follows the rate of weight loss, not the compound, and it is temporary.

permalink

comment on what would you tell week-1 you about heart rate in c/sideeffects · 12 points · 5 months ago

Right, and the hair thing is worth repeating: it tracks the rate of loss rather than the compound, and it stops.

permalink

comment on tapering: the version I wish someone had shown me in week 1 in c/tapering · 2 points · 5 months ago

Yes — have the conversation before rather than after. That is the one piece of process advice this board can give.

permalink

fibre and water before you buy anything to fix it

permalink

watch appetite, not the scale, for the first month

permalink

comment on switched from 1.0mg to 2.4mg and nausea got better, not worse in c/progresspics · 8 points · 7 months ago

say what changed for you, not what should change for others

permalink

comment on the regain question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/tapering · 28 points · 7 months ago

Correction: that study measured regain after discontinuation, not loss of effect during treatment. Very different findings.

write down where you are before you change anything

comment on sulphur burps: what the trials say vs what this community says in c/sideeffects · 126 points · 11 months ago

Which day of the week relative to the shot does it hit?

permalink

comment on why does nobody talk about formulary in c/insurancefights · 113 points · 1 year ago

Small fix — external review is independent of the plan. The second-level internal appeal is not.

permalink

comment on [Results] 39 weeks, 17kg, and progress was the hard part in c/progresspics · 250 points · 1 year ago

Stopped reading the fastest posts here for a month and my mood improved considerably.

permalink

comment on [Question] copay — what am I missing here in c/insurancefights · 38 points · 1 year ago

Step therapy requires documented trial of preferred alternatives. It is not an argument to be won on merits; it is a record to be produced, and the record is what the appeal must contain.

permalink

comment on [Discussion] progress is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/progresspics · -36 points · 1 year ago

How long was the stall before it moved?

permalink

comment on nobody warned me about sulphur burps and I would have liked the warning in c/sideeffects · 9 points · 1 year ago

sulphur burps are unpleasant and they are not dangerous

This is the shape almost everybody here describes, and it is the single most reassuring thing in the thread.

comment on reading regain threads from 2024 and half of it aged badly in c/tapering · 63 points · 1 year ago

Do you have a written baseline from before you started changing anything?

permalink

comment on France: appeal, and what it actually costs here in c/insurancefights · 62 points · 1 year ago

Right, and keeping every date and reference number turns a frustrating process into an auditable one.

Adding the underused one — external review. Independent, binding where it applies, and hardly anybody gets that far.

permalink

comment on switched from 0.5mg to 1.0mg and early fullness got better, not worse in c/tapering · 4 points · 1 year ago

stretching to ten days then twelve is the pattern people report

permalink

comment on switched from 0.5mg to 1.0mg and early fullness got better, not worse in c/tapering · 120 points · 1 year ago

Stopped abruptly once and gradually once. The gradual one was easier to interpret because I could see what was changing.

permalink

comment on [Results] 12 weeks on 1.7mg, full numbers, ask me anything boring in c/progresspics · 222 points · 1 year ago

Text-only posting removes the comparison mechanism that makes image boards difficult, which is why this community adopted the rule and has kept it.

permalink

comment on gallbladder — 15 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/sideeffects · 1 points · 1 year ago

Hair shedding after significant weight loss is a telogen effect that follows the rate of loss. It is not specific to these compounds and it resolves.

permalink

comment on does goal actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/progresspics · -4 points · 1 year ago

What are you actually celebrating today? Genuine question.

permalink

comment on Germany: external review, and what it actually costs here in c/insurancefights · 727 points · 1 year ago

A peer-to-peer conversation puts the prescribing clinician in front of a reviewing clinician. It bypasses the correspondence cycle entirely and is often the fastest available route.
