[Discussion] the nausea advice in here is 3 years out of date
the nausea advice in here is 3 years out of date. Making the case below, and I expect to lose some of it in the comments.
Pulling the figures out of the title: 3 years. All of it is written down as it happened rather than reconstructed.
The effect on gastric emptying is most pronounced early and attenuates with continued dosing, which is the mechanism behind the "it settles at a stable dose" pattern the whole board reports.
Most of the common complaints trace back to slowed gastric emptying — early fullness, reflux, nausea after a large or fatty meal. That is also why meal size and speed change the experience more than anything else.
Would rather be corrected in public than confident in private.
best — the order this archive was captured in
A symptom that begins the day after the shot and fades by day four tracks the exposure curve. One that appears at random in week 53 probably does not, and that is worth saying to a clinician rather than to us.
Hair shedding after significant weight loss is a telogen effect that follows the rate of loss. It is not specific to these compounds and it resolves.
the food noise that arrives at week 3 out of nowhere is usually something else
Constipation is mostly reduced intake plus reduced fluid, not a direct effect. That is why the boring fibre and water answer keeps working.
reflux at night, try not eating in the three hours before bed
Disagree. Severe abdominal pain is not on the list of things to wait out, and this board should not be treating it as one.
Nothing in this thread is medical advice, including this comment. I am describing a mechanism, not telling anybody what to do about their own week.
Are you eating in the couple of hours before you sleep?
Which day of the week relative to the shot does it hit?
a rough fortnight at each step is normal, a rough three months is not
Severe or persistent abdominal pain sits outside the pattern this board can usefully discuss. The honest answer there is that it needs someone who can examine you.
the food noise going quiet is the effect people came for, and nausea is the toll for the first fortnight
the first fortnight after a step is the worst of it, then it settles
Held the dose for an extra six weeks instead of stepping. The muscle cramps settled and I lost the same amount anyway.
That symptom is not the one being described upthread. Two different things with similar names and the answers are not interchangeable.
fatigue plus low intake is usually just low intake
The fatigue turned out to be that I was eating about a third of what I thought I was. Tracked it for a week and the mystery evaporated.
Mine settled at week 18 and has not come back since, across two more steps.
Correction: that is a known effect of reduced intake rather than a direct drug effect. The distinction matters because the fix is different.
How long has it been going on for now?
Careful with the supplement recommendation. There is no evidence for it here and the mechanism you are proposing does not hold.
hair shedding follows the weight loss, not the drug, and it stops
nobody warns you about how much of this is timing rather than dose
What is intake actually looking like — fibre and water especially?
