comment on bought a second-hand HPLC. worst best decision of my life. AMA in c/hplc · 1 points · 9 days ago

Correction: that is a tailing factor, not a plate count. Different diagnostics for different problems.

The habits from the losing phase are what carry it now. That is not inspirational, it is just what happened.

Careful — anything touching pregnancy is not a board question in any form.

Disagree — slower loss does not automatically preserve lean mass. Protein and training do the work, not the rate on its own.

comment on stalled for 15 weeks at 2.5mg and I refuse to panic this time in c/glp1women · 1 points · 1 months ago

The same dose genuinely feels different at different points in the month for me. Took a year to notice and it was in the log the whole time.

Sent the same vial to Janoshik and VendorInvestigate. 99.1% against a claimed 99.0%. The difference was the gradient, not the material.

strength retention is a decent proxy and it is free

DEXA has a meaningful coefficient of variation, and it differs between machines and protocols. Comparing scans from different clinics adds a systematic offset that is invisible on the report.

comment on switched from 10mg to 15mg and constipation got better, not worse in c/orforglipron · 2 points · 2 months ago

Oral semaglutide is a peptide co-formulated with an absorption enhancer and carries food and water timing requirements. A small molecule does not have that constraint, which is the practical distinction.

Strength retention is an imperfect but free longitudinal proxy: it is affected by neural factors and by being in a deficit, so it tracks tissue change loosely rather than exactly.

nothing on this board is a training or nutrition prescription

Been at maintenance for 21 months on 10mg. Nothing happens. That is the whole report and it took me a while to accept it as success.

comment on [Discussion] lowest effective dose is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/maintenancephase · 28 points · 6 months ago

Stretched from seven to ten days and then to twelve over about four months. Appetite told me where the limit was before the scale did.

appetite returns before the scale acknowledges anything

permalink

comment on [Question] non-peptide — what am I missing here in c/orforglipron · 42 points · 7 months ago

Not convinced. Oral semaglutide is a peptide formulated with an absorption enhancer; the comparison you are making does not hold.

permalink

comment on goal weight is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/maintenancephase · 317 points · 7 months ago

That is a range, not a trend. Two weigh-ins 17 days apart cannot distinguish them.

permalink

Not convinced by that integration. Dropping the baseline there absorbs part of the shoulder into the main peak.

Telogen shedding follows a period of significant weight change rather than a specific compound, and it resolves.

comment on [PSA] protein is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/glp1muscle · 64 points · 9 months ago

Tracked grip strength and three lifts monthly. Cheaper than scanning and directionally the same answer.

permalink

comment on [Results] 14 weeks on 5mg, full numbers, ask me anything boring in c/glp1muscle · 39 points · 10 months ago

Reduced appetite makes hitting a protein target a logistics problem rather than a motivation problem, which is why the practical advice here is about timing and food choice rather than willpower.

Where in the cycle does this fall, if you are tracking it?

permalink

comment on what would you tell week-1 you about ACHIEVE in c/orforglipron · 2 points · 10 months ago

Analytically this is a small-molecule identity and purity problem, not a peptide one. The methods, the impurity classes and the reference standards are all different.

comment on [Question] lowest effective dose — what am I missing here in c/maintenancephase · -11 points · 1 year ago

Dose reduction and interval extension are different interventions. Halving the dose keeps the rhythm and lowers the level; stretching keeps the level and lowers the frequency, with a lower trough.

Nothing here is a training or nutrition prescription. Targets and programmes are matters for somebody who knows your history and your training background.
