perimenopause: what the trials say vs what this community says

Discussion Receipts ×7

perimenopause: what the trials say vs what this community says. Making the case below, and I expect to lose some of it in the comments.

The same dose genuinely feels different at different points in the month for me. Took a year to notice and it was in the log the whole time.

Started logging the cycle in the same sheet as the dose. Three months later the pattern was obvious and it had been invisible before.

Anything involving pregnancy, contraception efficacy or fertility planning belongs with a clinician. That is not a disclaimer, it is where the answers actually are.

Corrections welcome, especially the pedantic ones. Pedantry is how this board earns its reputation.

Trial populations for the major programmes were not designed around the questions this board asks most often, which is why the evidence base here is genuinely thinner rather than merely harder to find.

PCOS is a diagnosis, not a description, and it matters which you mean

PCOS and insulin resistance are the thread that runs through this board

Not convinced by the attribution. That pattern tracks the cycle in your own log more closely than it tracks the dose.

About c/glp1women

The questions the trials under-powered: PCOS and insulin resistance, cycle changes, fertility signal and contraception interactions, perimenopause and menopause weight physiology, and the fact that the pregnancy answer is always "not while trying, talk to your clinician".

  1. Pregnancy and trying-to-conceive questions get a clinician pointer, not community advice.
  2. Contraception interaction claims need a citation.
  3. No cycle-tracking data with identifying details.
  4. Independent community. Nobody here sells anything, and anyone who tries is banned.
  5. Not medical advice. Describe what you did; never prescribe to a stranger.
  6. Claims need evidence. Batch numbers, dated screenshots, independent test reports, or a citation.
  7. No referral links, discount codes or affiliate URLs. Permanent ban, no appeal.
