comment on [Warning] wrong network. $180 gone. test with $5 first. in c/cryptopay · 7 points · 2 days ago

Rate quotes expire because the underlying rate moves. A short expiry is ordinary; urgency about your decision is a separate signal and should be read separately.

comment on [Question] does carrier choice matter more than origin city in c/intlshipping · 18 points · 4 days ago

Yes — regional stock is the single biggest variable and it barely gets mentioned outside this board.

permalink

comment on half-life is 168 hours. that is why your injection day barely matters. in c/glp1science · -34 points · 4 days ago

receptor distribution is why the side effects are where they are

permalink

comment on [PSA] no tracking numbers. they identify both ends. removed on sight. in c/intlshipping · 1 points · 4 days ago

Asked WXT which lines they hold regionally before ordering and got a straight list back.

Adding the field everyone forgets — the month. Without it the report is not comparable to anything.

comment on two labs, same vial, 98.1 and 96.4. both right? in c/hplc · 33 points · 7 days ago

That figure cannot be quoted to two decimals off that baseline. The precision is not in the data.

permalink

comment on the mean transit time is useless, the 90th percentile is what melts your pack in c/intlshipping · 16 points · 9 days ago

Split one order across two months on purpose to compare summer and winter. Four days apart, same carrier, same route.

permalink

comment on [Fees] network fee comparison for small orders, actual numbers in c/cryptopay · 1 points · 15 days ago

the supplier cannot reverse it and neither can you

permalink

comment on [Lab] identity confirmed but net peptide content was 71% in c/bpc157 · 4 points · 15 days ago

Small fix — fifteen residues, not seventeen. The sequence is public and easy to check.

comment on [Non-Scale Win] tied my own shoes without holding my breath in c/progresspics · 11 points · 18 days ago

What was the non-scale thing that told you first?

permalink

comment on [Non-Scale Win] tied my own shoes without holding my breath in c/progresspics · 15 points · 18 days ago

Are you measuring anything other than weight?

permalink

comment on [Non-Scale Win] tied my own shoes without holding my breath in c/progresspics · 29 points · 19 days ago

The boring middle lasted the longest and it is the part I am most proud of.

permalink

comment on [Lane Report] Tianjin → Canada, 14 days, two of three vials cracked in c/intlshipping · 48 points · 19 days ago

Ordered from the warehouse in Ireland instead of origin and the whole customs question disappeared. 14 days, door to door.

comment on [Explainer] why amino acid analysis catches the frauds HPLC misses in c/hplc · 235 points · 21 days ago

UV response is not uniform across species. At 214nm you are looking at the peptide bond, which is why it is the working wavelength for this class; at 280nm you only see tryptophan, tyrosine and phenylalanine.

comment on [Struggle] eight weeks, 2kg, doing everything right, and it is grinding me down in c/progresspics · 40 points · 22 days ago

Yes. The middle is where everybody actually lives and almost nobody posts from it.

permalink

comment on three years of DHL threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/intlshipping · 15 points · 25 days ago

The rigid outer with no rattle in it was the thing that told me most about that supplier, before I had tested anything.

permalink

comment on [Results] two years, and the second year mattered more than the first in c/progresspics · 1 points · 1 months ago

Cosigning on timeframe. "28kg" means something completely different over 14 months than over one.

permalink

comment on pentadecapeptide is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/bpc157 · 0 points · 1 months ago

Do you have the mass spectrum?

permalink

comment on [Discussion] lane is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/intlshipping · 5 points · 1 months ago

A quoted lead time is a commitment you can evaluate. Measuring quoted against actual across several orders tells you more about an operation than the raw speed does.

comment on the bacteriostatic water thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/reconstitution · 0 points · 1 months ago

Spent 23 weeks confused about this until somebody drew the table for me. 20mg, 2mL, 10mg/mL, 2mg is 20 units. That is the whole thing.

permalink

comment on genuine question about purity that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/hplc · 8 points · 1 months ago

Chased a ghost peak for three weeks. It was the plumbing. It is always the plumbing.

permalink

comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about dead space until somebody posts a number in c/reconstitution · 17 points · 2 months ago

If your calculation produces a fraction of a unit, the concentration is wrong for your dose. Change the water volume until the numbers land on whole units.

permalink

comment on does bacteriostatic water actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/reconstitution · 19 points · 2 months ago

Aim the stream down the wall of the vial rather than into the cake. Reconstitution is a solubility problem, not a mixing problem, and mechanical shear does nothing helpful.

comment on [Struggle] regained 6kg over a winter and i am posting it anyway in c/progresspics · 6 points · 2 months ago

celebrate the boring milestones, they are the durable ones

permalink

comment on [Struggle] regained 6kg over a winter and i am posting it anyway in c/progresspics · 10 points · 2 months ago

Small correction, kindly meant: that is a range rather than a regain. Weight moves day to day in everybody.

comment on small win: non-scale victory stopped being a problem at week 61 in c/progresspics · 12 points · 2 months ago

Same. Comparison ruined about three months for me until I stopped reading the fastest posts.

comment on [Meta] the incretin rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/glp1science · 81 points · 2 months ago

I would not read that in vitro number across to a person. The conditions are nothing like physiological.

comment on [Meta] the incretin rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/glp1science · 45 points · 2 months ago

That study was in a rodent model. Worth stating, since the thread has been reading it as human data.

LC-MS for identity, UV for relative quantity

permalink

comment on genuine question about insulin syringe that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/reconstitution · 51 points · 3 months ago

Research-use-only material is not approved for human use, so treat everything in this thread as arithmetic about solutions rather than instructions for a person.

permalink

comment on [Meta] the LC-MS rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/hplc · 45 points · 3 months ago

What did system suitability look like on that sequence?

permalink

comment on how much of what we believe about transit time actually comes from reship threads in c/intlshipping · 4 points · 4 months ago

Clearance took three days and the carrier took nine. I had been blaming the wrong half for two years.

permalink

comment on someone explain gas fees to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/cryptopay · 5 points · 4 months ago

Correction: that address format is not the chain you named. Worth checking before anybody follows this.

permalink

comment on someone explain gas fees to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/cryptopay · 8 points · 4 months ago

Asked which networks ERP accepted before ordering and picked the cheapest one at that hour. Saved more than the difference in price.

permalink

comment on [Meta] the mechanism rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/glp1science · 43 points · 4 months ago

Careful — you have a plausible mechanism and no evidence that it is the operative one in the case you are describing.

comment on someone explain gradient to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/hplc · 6 points · 4 months ago

UV response is not uniform across species. At 214nm you are looking at the peptide bond, which is why it is the working wavelength for this class; at 280nm you only see tryptophan, tyrosine and phenylalanine.

permalink

comment on [Question] EMS — what am I missing here in c/intlshipping · 219 points · 5 months ago

Packaging is assessable on arrival with no equipment: rigid outer, no movement inside, the cold element sized to the transit rather than to the box.

permalink

comment on [Discussion] units are doing more work than we give it credit for in c/reconstitution · 76 points · 5 months ago

Small fix — a U-100 syringe is 100 units per mL. If yours is marked differently it is not U-100 and the whole calculation changes.

Show the arithmetic — where did the unit figure come from?
