Weight, under consistent conditions, no more than weekly. Waist, monthly — it frequently keeps moving when the scale does not. And one non-scale thing a week written down: a garment, a staircase, a distance, an ordinary task that got easier.

A year of those three is a far better record than a year of daily weights, and reading the third column back is the part that actually means something. The daily number is noise dressed up as information, and it has ruined more months on this board than any plateau.

The weekly interval comes out of the half-life — roughly a week — so you are on a smooth curve rather than a series of spikes. That is also why moving your day slightly does very little.

The mental model that finally made this click for me: there are two curves, and people watch the wrong one.

The first is exposure, which is set by the dose and smoothed by a week-long half-life. It changes when you change the dose and then settles over about a month. The second is body weight, which is exposure filtered through appetite, food, water, sleep, training and the scale itself, and which moves in steps rather than a line.

Almost every "it stopped working" post is somebody watching curve two over a fortnight and drawing conclusions about curve one. If the appetite effect is still there, exposure is fine. Wait the month.

The five things that would have saved me the most time in month one.

One: the first month is a tolerance check, not a results phase. Two: appetite usually changes before the scale does, so watch that instead. Three: write the concentration and the date on the vial the moment you reconstitute anything. Four: the loud posts are not the middle of the distribution. Five: nobody here — including whoever answers most confidently — is your clinician.

None of that is advice about what to take. It is the shape of the first few weeks, which is what I actually wanted and could not find.
