Trial identifiers corrected in the title. SURMOUNT and SURPASS are different programmes.
comment on [Discussion] progress is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/progresspics · 77 points · 1 year ago
Not convinced comparison helps here. The people posting the fastest results are the tail of a distribution, not the middle.
comment on [Question] is 93.7% actually fine or am I being sold a rounding error in c/tirzepatide · 6 points · 1 year ago
Left up, flair changed to Discussion. It is an opinion post and that is fine as long as it is labelled.
comment on switched from 0.5mg to 2.4mg and early fullness got better, not worse in c/newbiequestions · 99 points · 1 year ago
Appetite change and weight change are different measurements on different timescales. The first is usually noticed first and the second lags it.

What timeframe is that over?

if 7.5 is working, 10 is not automatically better
Agreed, with one qualifier: that is the mean of the top arm and the spread around it was enormous.
comment on [Discussion] we are measuring Mounjaro at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/tirzepatide · 0 points · 1 year ago
The 21% figure is a 72-week mean on the highest arm. Quoting it as what someone should expect by week 51 is not a fair reading.
comment on is it normal to get nausea at week 58 in c/progresspics · 107 points · 1 year ago
Agreed that goal weights picked at the start are guesses. Mine was, and I revised it twice.

That is an escalation schedule for an unapproved compound and this board does not host those.

Do sulphur burps follow the day after the shot, or is it spread across the week?
Agreed, with one qualifier: that is the mean of the top arm and the spread around it was enormous.

Switching from semaglutide, since three people asked in this thread alone.
There is no published dose equivalence between the two. The conversion tables that circulate are somebody’s arithmetic, not data. What people report here is that the first month after a switch is often flat, that the appetite effect feels differently shaped rather than simply stronger, and that starting at the bottom of the ladder again is the common approach.
None of that is a recommendation. It is what the threads say, and the threads are not a clinic.

no question is too basic here, that is the entire point of the board
comment on [Results] 47 weeks, 15kg, and GIP was the hard part in c/tirzepatide · 65 points · 1 year ago
Weekly dosing again, half-life in the same neighbourhood as sema, so a step change takes about a month to reach steady state. Judging a new step at day five is judging noise.
comment on bacteriostatic water is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/reconstitution · 203 points · 1 year ago
Right — the volume you add is the only variable you control here, and the cake does not change it meaningfully.

Right, and the trial titration was slow for reasons that are visible in the tolerability tables.

Small fix — a U-100 syringe is 100 units per mL. If yours is marked differently it is not U-100 and the whole calculation changes.

Bacteriostatic water contains benzyl alcohol as a preservative, which is what makes repeated entry into the same vial reasonable. Plain sterile water has no preservative.

How to make a DEXA comparison mean anything.
Same machine, same clinic, same protocol. Same hydration and fasting state, as far as you can manage. At least three to four months apart, because the measurement error is large relative to short-term change. Three scans rather than two, because the first pair cannot distinguish a trend from noise.
Do less than that and you have two numbers with an offset of unknown size, which people then react to by rebuilding a training programme. The free alternative — a few tracked lifts and a monthly waist measurement — is directionally informative, costs nothing, and is far harder to over-interpret.

Removed the conversion table. There is no published equivalence between the two molecules and posting one as fact is exactly the kind of thing that gets copied for years.

I would separate the two claims. That the GIP arm exists is uncontroversial; that it explains your nausea pattern is a guess.

Nothing here is a training or nutrition prescription. Targets and programmes are matters for somebody who knows your history and your training background.
