is it normal to get nausea at week 58

Struggle Receipts ×7 Cold Box ×2

is it normal to get nausea at week 58. This is a description of what happened to me and not a plan for anybody else.

Text-only posting removes the comparison mechanism that makes image boards difficult, which is why this community adopted the rule and has kept it.

Rate of change is not a virtue. Slower trajectories are as durable as fast ones and are considerably better represented on this board than the front page suggests.

If two or three other people have done the same thing we might actually learn something. Alone it is an anecdote.

A goal weight chosen before starting is a prediction made with the least information you will ever have. Revising it is ordinary rather than a failure.

Did the clothes change before the number did for you too?

celebrate the boring milestones, they are the durable ones

This is the one I would put in the sidebar. The middle is where everyone lives.

waist is the measurement that keeps moving during a scale stall

u/anya_correia113 points·1 year ago

Are you measuring anything other than weight?

replysharereportpermalink
u/nayeli_fonseca79 points·1 year ago

Small correction, kindly meant: that is a range rather than a regain. Weight moves day to day in everybody.

Agreed that goal weights picked at the start are guesses. Mine was, and I revised it twice.

dexa_twice_yearly is right that the clothes tell you before the scale does.

Body weight varies by a couple of kilos day to day through fluid, glycogen and gut content, which is why a single weigh-in is noise and a fortnightly trend is signal.

Correction: 16kg over 8 months is a different claim from 16kg in a month, and the post reads as the second.

measurements beat photographs for actually tracking anything

Right — the non-scale victories are the ones I remember. The numbers all blur together after a while.

the timeframe matters as much as the number

Is the goal you set at the start still the goal?

non-scale victories count and they are the ones people remember

What timeframe is that over?

Nobody noticed for months. Then several people noticed in the same fortnight, which was strange and quite nice.

Gently disagree with the framing — that is not a plateau, that is a month. They are different things.

u/lina_ndiayeOP22 points·1 year ago

What was the non-scale thing that told you first?

Slight disagreement: that is a month, not a plateau, and calling it one makes it heavier than it is.

Agreed — text only was the best rule this board ever adopted. The posts are about what actually changed rather than about lighting.

u/due_diligence_dee7 points·1 year ago

How long was the stall before it moved?

replysharereportpermalink
u/fibre_forward14 points·1 year ago

How are you keeping track — spreadsheet, notebook, nothing?

replysharereportpermalink
u/anya_correia8 points·1 year ago

What are you actually celebrating today? Genuine question.

u/search_before_post15 points·1 year ago·edited

That is a waist measurement, not a weight, and the thread has been comparing them as though they were the same.

replysharereportpermalink
u/anders_karlsen6 points·1 year ago

This. Waist measurement kept moving through my longest stall and it was the only thing that kept me sane.
