sulphur burps: a taxonomy, a timeline, and my sincere apologies to my flatmate

Questionbranch of 16 comments

sulphur burps: a taxonomy, a timeline, and my sincere apologies to my flatmate. It is the sort of thing everyone half-believes and nobody writes down. Held the dose for an extra six weeks instead of stepping. The muscle cramps settled and I lost the same amount anyway. The pattern almost everyone here describes,…

A symptom that begins the day after the shot and fades by day four tracks the exposure curve. One that appears at random in week 2 probably does not, and that is worth saying to a clinician rather than to us.

Left up. It is a description of one person’s week and it is flagged as such.

write down when it starts and stops, the pattern is the useful part

Agreed, with the caveat that "usually settles" is not "always settles" and the exceptions should still get asked about properly.

the first fortnight after a step is the worst of it, then it settles

holding a dose an extra month is a legitimate answer to bad tolerance

This is the shape almost everybody here describes, and it is the single most reassuring thing in the thread.

sulphur burps are unpleasant and they are not dangerous

Has anything else changed in the same window?

Severe, or unpleasant? They are genuinely different questions and the answers diverge.

Hair shedding after significant weight loss is a telogen effect that follows the rate of loss. It is not specific to these compounds and it resolves.

hair shedding follows the weight loss, not the drug, and it stops

ayesha_radich is right about the timing. The day-of-week pattern is the diagnostic bit, not the severity.

Correcting my own comment above: I said day three and my log says day two. Same pattern, wrong day.

Reflux was the one that got me. Stopped eating in the three hours before bed and it went from nightly to almost never.

About c/sideeffects

Side-effect experience and management, with a strong bias toward the ones that are common and boring (nausea, constipation, reflux, fatigue, sulphur burps) and a hard line on the ones that are not (severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, jaundice, vision changes). This community is not a substitute for urgent care and the mods will say so bluntly.

c/sideeffects rules
  1. Severe or escalating abdominal pain is an urgent-care question, not a forum question. We will lock those threads with a pointer to help.
  2. Describe your dose, your week number and your titration speed — otherwise nobody can help.
  3. No diagnosing strangers. Share what happened to you.
  4. Independent community. Nobody here sells anything, and anyone who tries is banned.
  5. Not medical advice. Describe what you did; never prescribe to a stranger.
  6. Claims need evidence. Batch numbers, dated screenshots, independent test reports, or a citation.
  7. No referral links, discount codes or affiliate URLs. Permanent ban, no appeal.
  8. No contact handles, wallet addresses or tracking numbers — they identify people.
  9. Be recognisably decent. Disagree hard, insult nobody.

Before you read on

Several compounds discussed on GLP Research Hub are sold for research use only and are not approved for human use anywhere. Nothing here is medical advice and none of it is written by your clinician. If a post reads like an instruction, treat it as a description of what one stranger did.
