Keeping a log, and what to put in it.

One line a day: dose, day since injection, what the symptom was and how bad out of five, and roughly what you ate. Two months of that fits on one page and the pattern is obvious on paper in a way it never is in your head.

Mine showed a clean day-two-to-day-four window I had been describing as "random". Once you can see the pattern you can plan around it, and planning around it is most of the relief.

This. Anything involving pregnancy or contraception goes to a clinician, and this board should keep saying so.

Has anything else changed in the same window?

comment on [Discussion] mg/mL is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/reconstitution · 143 points · 2 years ago

The whole calculation, once, with real numbers.

You have a 10mg vial. You add 3mL of bacteriostatic water. Concentration is mass over volume: 3.33mg/mL. A U-100 insulin syringe is graduated at 100 units per millilitre, so one unit is 0.01mL.

To draw 0.5mg you need 0.5 divided by 3.33 millilitres, which is 15 units on the barrel. Write "3.33mg/mL" on the vial in marker before you put it away, and you never have to do this again for that vial.

Compounded supply arrangements have changed materially in recent years. Advice predating that change describes a situation that no longer applies.

Where a supplier holds regional stock, ask which lines are actually held there rather than drop-shipped. It changes the lead time and it changes the customs question.

Right, and the hair thing is worth repeating: it tracks the rate of loss rather than the compound, and it stops.

comment on [Meta] the dead space rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/reconstitution · 9 points · 2 years ago

Yes, and the dead-space point is worth repeating: it is small, it is real, and it is the same for every draw.

comment on what changed for me between month 8 and month 12 in c/sideeffects · 97 points · 2 years ago

Small fix — the shedding follows the rate of weight loss, not the compound, and it is temporary.

nobody warns you about how much of this is timing rather than dose

twice as much water halves the concentration and doubles the units for the same dose

What is intake actually looking like — fibre and water especially?

the lot on the vial has to match the lot on the certificate, every time

Nothing in this thread is medical advice, including this comment. I am describing a mechanism, not telling anybody what to do about their own week.
