comment on [Trial Data] what the STEP 4 and SURMOUNT-4 withdrawal arms actually showed in c/tapering · 13 points · 6 days ago

Appetite is the proximal effect and weight is the lagging integrated outcome, which is why watching appetite gives you an earlier and more honest signal.

Did you write the concentration on the vial?

permalink

comment on anyone else notice regain kicking in around week 20 in c/tapering · 17 points · 21 days ago

Regained most of it over a year and spent that year assuming it was my fault. It was not; it is what the literature describes.

comment on [Struggle] eight weeks, 2kg, doing everything right, and it is grinding me down in c/progresspics · 69 points · 24 days ago

Agreed — text only was the best rule this board ever adopted. The posts are about what actually changed rather than about lighting.

comment on everyone here has a spreadsheet, do i need a spreadsheet in c/newbiequestions · 4 points · 24 days ago

A certificate of analysis is a document describing one batch: what was tested, by what method, and what the result was. Its value depends entirely on whether it names the batch and the method.

permalink

comment on [Results] two years, and the second year mattered more than the first in c/progresspics · 1 points · 1 months ago

That is a waist measurement, not a weight, and the thread has been comparing them as though they were the same.

permalink

comment on 23 months in and week one is still the thing I get wrong in c/newbiequestions · 15 points · 1 months ago

write the concentration on the vial, you will thank yourself

permalink

comment on the appetite return question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/tapering · 40 points · 1 months ago

the habits are what has to carry it afterwards

permalink

comment on normal is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/newbiequestions · 40 points · 1 months ago

Agreed — week two with nothing on the scale is so common it should be in the sidebar. It probably is.

permalink

comment on [Results] 9 weeks on 7.5mg, full numbers, ask me anything boring in c/tapering · 93 points · 2 months ago

Disagree with the framing. Regain is the documented outcome after discontinuation; calling it a personal failure is both wrong and corrosive.

permalink

comment on regain — my 2-week log, condensed into one table in c/tapering · 1 points · 3 months ago

Not convinced. Two weeks of stable weight is not evidence of anything yet.

permalink

comment on anyone else notice failure kicking in around week 21 in c/darkspot · 23 points · 3 months ago

Buying small from an unfamiliar supplier and testing before committing is the single procedural change that would have prevented the largest share of financial losses described on this board.

comment on anyone else notice failure kicking in around week 21 in c/darkspot · 1 points · 3 months ago

Chased the scale instead of the measurements for a year and made myself miserable for no additional progress.

comment on anyone else notice what is kicking in around week 86 in c/newbiequestions · 70 points · 4 months ago

What does the wiki page on this say — genuinely asking, not deflecting?

permalink

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify milestone in c/progresspics · 23 points · 5 months ago

Body weight varies by a couple of kilos day to day through fluid, glycogen and gut content, which is why a single weigh-in is noise and a fortnightly trend is signal.

permalink

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify milestone in c/progresspics · 10 points · 5 months ago

celebrate the boring milestones, they are the durable ones

permalink

comment on normal: the version I wish someone had shown me in week 1 in c/newbiequestions · 19 points · 6 months ago

Right, and writing the concentration on the vial is the single best habit anyone here can start with.

permalink

comment on 5 months in and failure is still the thing I get wrong in c/darkspot · 6 points · 6 months ago

somebody will read this at the point you were at, and it will help

permalink

comment on why does nobody talk about normal in c/newbiequestions · 3 points · 7 months ago

Careful — that is a dosing recommendation dressed as an anecdote, and this board removes those.

permalink

comment on what changed for me between month 11 and month 17 in c/darkspot · 12 points · 7 months ago

Are you being harder on yourself than you would be on somebody else posting this?

permalink

comment on someone explain first time to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/newbiequestions · 1 points · 7 months ago

nobody here can tell you what dose to be on

permalink

comment on does discontinuation actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/tapering · 25 points · 8 months ago

Same. A quiet fortnight after stopping tells you very little; the interesting part starts later.

permalink

comment on does discontinuation actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/tapering · 10 points · 8 months ago

That is a pause rather than a stop, and the plans for the two are not the same.

permalink

comment on [Discussion] the normal advice in here is 2 years out of date in c/newbiequestions · 1 points · 8 months ago

The injection was scarier in my head than in reality. It took about ten seconds and I felt slightly silly afterwards.

comment on three years of tapering threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/tapering · 107 points · 9 months ago

a fortnight of nothing is not evidence that you are fine

permalink

comment on [PSA] what went wrong is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/darkspot · 42 points · 9 months ago

this board exists so the failures are on the record too

permalink

comment on [Question] beginner — what am I missing here in c/newbiequestions · 69 points · 11 months ago

pens and vials are the same molecule with different logistics

permalink

comment on the lost money question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/darkspot · 131 points · 1 year ago

Where a supplier has no independent testing on file, that is a statement about the evidence and not about their conduct. Saying it the second way is how this board would stop being useful.

permalink

comment on what went wrong is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/darkspot · 1 points · 1 year ago

writing it down is the useful part, not the outcome

permalink

comment on tried what went wrong for 3 weeks. here is what happened. in c/darkspot · 3 points · 1 year ago

Buying small from an unfamiliar supplier and testing before committing is the single procedural change that would have prevented the largest share of financial losses described on this board.

nobody here can write you a taper schedule

permalink

comment on anyone else notice basics kicking in around week 49 in c/newbiequestions · 57 points · 1 year ago

Yes — nobody here is your clinician, and the good answers on this board all end with that.

permalink

comment on my eGFR moved and I cannot work out whether below spec is why in c/darkspot · 1 points · 1 year ago

Nothing here is medical advice, and the honest version of most of these posts is that they describe consequences rather than causes.

permalink

comment on switched from 0.25mg to 2.4mg and reflux got better, not worse in c/newbiequestions · 182 points · 1 year ago

Right, and writing the concentration on the vial is the single best habit anyone here can start with.

This is the answer. Everything else in the thread is elaboration on it.

permalink

comment on am I the only one who found below spec harder than the injections in c/darkspot · 4 points · 1 year ago

going up too fast is the most repeated regret on this board

permalink

comment on how much of what we believe about beginner actually comes from what is threads in c/newbiequestions · 262 points · 1 year ago

Push back on the advice above: nobody here can tell a member what dose to take, however confidently it is phrased.

permalink

comment on genuine question about regret that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/darkspot · 60 points · 1 year ago

the regret is usually about pace, not about the decision

permalink

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring regain at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/tapering · 36 points · 1 year ago

nobody here can write you a taper schedule

research-use-only material is not approved for human use, and that belongs in every beginner thread
