comment on private plan — 18 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/glp1canada · 154 points · 2 years ago

Employer-sponsored plans have their own criteria and appeal processes, independent of the provincial formulary. Which one applies determines everything about the route.

the first fortnight after a step is the worst of it, then it settles

This is the shape almost everybody here describes, and it is the single most reassuring thing in the thread.

comment on three years of reimbursement threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/glp1eu · 8 points · 2 years ago

Cross-border prescription recognition exists under EU rules but is conditional and narrower than commonly assumed, with requirements about the prescription’s form and content.

comment on [Question] Denmark — has anyone got a straight answer on province in c/glp1canada · 95 points · 2 years ago

National regulatory approval establishes that a product may be sold. Whether any plan pays for it is a separate decision, and public drug plans are administered provincially.

Careful. A four-week stall is inside normal variation and treating it as failure is how people escalate for no reason.

Push back: a private prescription is a separate route, not a shortcut through the NHS queue.

comment on what changed for me between month 6 and month 10 in c/semaglutide · 19 points · 2 years ago

staying at 0.5mg for an extra month is a legitimate plan

comment on the pricing thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/glp1uk · 19 points · 2 years ago

Four pharmacies, four prices, same product, same month.

Agreed — and keeping the letters with dates is what makes any later challenge possible.

comment on how much of what we believe about heart rate actually comes from reflux threads in c/sideeffects · 193 points · 2 years ago

Hair shedding after significant weight loss is a telogen effect that follows the rate of loss. It is not specific to these compounds and it resolves.

comment on genuine question about reflux that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/sideeffects · 131 points · 2 years ago

Nothing in this thread is medical advice, including this comment. I am describing a mechanism, not telling anybody what to do about their own week.

comment on [PSA] constipation is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/sideeffects · 108 points · 2 years ago

I would be careful here. "Everyone gets this" is not true, and it makes the people who get something unusual assume they are fine when they should be asking.

the MHRA supply notices are published, read them before the panic threads

Disagree. That is the pathway in one ICB and it does not generalise even to the next one over.

comment on unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about 2.4mg is guesswork in c/semaglutide · 2 points · 2 years ago

Dropped my injection day by two days once because of travel. Nothing happened. The panic was worse than the effect.

comment on someone explain nausea to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/sideeffects · 885 points · 2 years ago

A symptom that begins the day after the shot and fades by day four tracks the exposure curve. One that appears at random in week 80 probably does not, and that is worth saying to a clinician rather than to us.

What is intake actually looking like — fibre and water especially?

Disagreeing with this one line: that symptom is not on the wait-and-see list and should not be posted as though it is.

This is the shape almost everybody here describes, and it is the single most reassuring thing in the thread.
