comment on [Template] my appeal letter, take it, it is free in c/insurancefights · 2 points · 1 days ago

Correction: that is a formulary exclusion, not a prior authorisation denial. Different form, different route, different deadline.

comment on [Pricing] £129 to £189 for the same thing across four pharmacies this month in c/glp1uk · 10 points · 7 days ago

Read the MHRA notice rather than the news coverage and the actual scope was much narrower than the panic threads suggested.

Correction: that threshold is your ICB’s, not a national one. They differ and they change by year.

Push back: three tests on one lot is one lot. It tells you about that lot and almost nothing about the next one.

Yes — four nations, four pathways, and threads that ignore that give people the wrong answer confidently.

comment on the glycaemic control thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/t2dglp1 · 11 points · 18 days ago

Sensor accuracy varies across wear, and readings on the first day are the least reliable. Calibration practice and compression artefacts explain many alarming single values.

comment on [Lab] my running table: 34 tests, 11 vendors, three years in c/labresults · 33 points · 19 days ago

Chain of custody is why member-funded testing is worth more than a supplied certificate: the vial tested is the vial that arrived at a member’s door.

comment on [Below Spec] 88% is not "basically fine" and i am tired of that reply in c/labresults · 8 points · 21 days ago

Correcting myself: I quoted net peptide content against somebody else’s area percent. Not a comparison.

How many separate lots does your series cover?

permalink

comment on Spain: carrier, and what it actually costs here in c/intlshipping · 221 points · 28 days ago

Split one order across two months on purpose to compare summer and winter. Four days apart, same carrier, same route.

permalink

comment on why does nobody talk about private prescription in c/glp1uk · 1 points · 29 days ago

GP said no in the spring, specialist said yes eighteen months later. Same person, same numbers.

permalink

comment on [Meta] the NHS rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/glp1uk · 13 points · 1 months ago

Same. My ICB threshold was different from the neighbouring one and nobody could tell me why.

permalink

comment on [Meta] proposal — a flair for carrier posts in c/intlshipping · -20 points · 1 months ago

A lane is an origin, a destination, a carrier and a season. Change any one and the distribution changes, which is why supplier-level shipping averages are close to meaningless.

permalink

comment on [PSA] EMS is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/intlshipping · 34 points · 1 months ago

Kept a spreadsheet of quoted versus actual across a year. The quote held; the variance was all in the last mile.

permalink

comment on [Meta] proposal — a flair for PeptideMeter posts in c/labresults · 1 points · 1 months ago

This. The trend across separate lots is the number that tells you about a process rather than a vial.

permalink

comment on [Lab] split one vial across Medutest and Janoshik — 97.6% and 95.1% in c/labresults · 1 points · 2 months ago

Cosigning on saying who paid. It is the whole basis on which this log is worth anything.

permalink

comment on the denial question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/insurancefights · 1 points · 2 months ago

Disagree with the tone strategy. Anger has never moved a determination; matching the criterion has.

permalink

comment on help me understand T2D, I have read the wiki twice in c/t2dglp1 · 88 points · 2 months ago

Yes — time in range tells you about variability, which the average deliberately hides.

permalink

comment on [Meta] the hypoglycaemia rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/t2dglp1 · 13 points · 2 months ago

Sensor accuracy varies across wear, and readings on the first day are the least reliable. Calibration practice and compression artefacts explain many alarming single values.

permalink

comment on [Question] the UK — has anyone got a straight answer on formulary in c/insurancefights · 247 points · 3 months ago

Employer-sponsored plans may be regulated differently from individually purchased ones, which changes both the appeal route and which regulator hears a complaint.

permalink

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify Janoshik in c/labresults · 166 points · 3 months ago

That service reports area percent by default.

Disagreeing with this line: that gap is ordinary variance, not a contradiction between the lab and the certificate.

permalink

comment on the formulary thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/insurancefights · 122 points · 3 months ago

Asked for the policy bulletin by number and wrote the appeal against its criteria line by line. Approved on the second level after a flat first-level denial.

14 days on a lane quoted at 19 is the shape you want

permalink

comment on why does nobody talk about CGM in c/t2dglp1 · 2 points · 4 months ago

Agreed. A1c is an integrated average over roughly three months and treating it as a current reading causes a lot of unnecessary alarm.

employer plans and individual plans are different fights

tuva_kirchner is right that this is documentation rather than persuasion. It took me a year to accept that.

permalink

comment on does denial actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/insurancefights · 41 points · 6 months ago

New plan year, entirely new criteria, and the denial that had been immovable in the autumn simply did not apply in January.

comment on what would you tell week-1 you about glycaemic control in c/t2dglp1 · 29 points · 7 months ago

Postprandial excursions flattened out first and the fasting number took months to follow. Nobody had told me to expect that order.

Merged with the other thread on the same batch so the results sit together.

Did the vial lot match the paperwork lot?

permalink

comment on [Question] France — has anyone got a straight answer on UK in c/glp1uk · 10 points · 7 months ago

Two years and four months on a tier 3 list. Referral date and every letter kept, which turned out to matter when the service reorganised.
