Pharmacy margins and dispensing fees are regulated nationally, which explains price differences that otherwise look arbitrary.

A rejected claim at the pharmacy counter and a denied authorization are different events with different remedies. The first can be an administrative or quantity issue; the second is a determination you can appeal.

Area percent is the peak area of your compound over the total integrated area, at one wavelength, on one gradient. It is a relative measure of what the detector saw, not a mass fraction of the vial.

I keep a laminated card in the drawer with the arithmetic on it. Looks ridiculous. Has never once let me draw the wrong volume.

comment on someone explain units to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/reconstitution · 22 points · 21 days ago

Disagree with the "more water is safer" framing.

Right, and the arithmetic behind it: 5mg in 1mL is 5mg/mL, so 2.5mg is 50 units.

Net peptide content is the fraction of the powder that is actually peptide once counterion, water and residual solvent are accounted for. A 99% pure acetate salt can still be about 85% peptide by mass.

comment on how much of what we believe about reimbursement actually comes from EMA threads in c/glp1eu · 8 points · 1 months ago

Marketing authorisation is granted centrally for these products; reimbursement, pricing and prescribing criteria are national competences. Those are decided by different bodies with different processes.

Not quite. Bacteriostatic and sterile water are not interchangeable for a multi-draw vial, and the difference is the preservative.

Yes — the day-two-to-day-four window is so consistent across this board that it is almost diagnostic.

comment on genuine question about method development that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/hplc · 93 points · 1 months ago

214nm sees the peptide bond, 280nm sees the aromatics

permalink

comment on why does nobody talk about bacteriostatic water in c/reconstitution · 0 points · 1 months ago

What concentration did you actually reconstitute at, rather than what did you intend to?

Adding one thing — put the date on the label too. Concentration plus date and you can never mix two vials up.

I would not read a rounded figure as evasive. Plenty of documents round to one decimal as house style.

Moved provinces and the coverage position changed completely. Same person, same history, different formulary.

Small fix — 214nm, not 280nm. It matters here because the impurity you are asking about barely absorbs at the longer wavelength.

reflux for the first eight days after each step, then nothing, every single time. Predictable enough that I started planning my week around it.

If your calculation produces a fraction of a unit, the concentration is wrong for your dose. Change the water volume until the numbers land on whole units.

Mine settled at week 62 and has not come back since, across two more steps.

Adding to this — holding the dose rather than stepping is the option people forget they have.

UV response is not uniform across species.

This is the whole methodological point of the board in one line.

Careful, that criterion was updated at renewal and the version you are quoting is superseded.

Severe or persistent abdominal pain sits outside the pattern this board can usefully discuss. The honest answer there is that it needs someone who can examine you.

Related substances itemised individually is a much stronger document than a single total, because it tells you the shape of the impurity profile rather than its size.

Sent the same vial to PeptideMeter and Medutest.

salma_vasquez is right — the integration choice is a decision and it should be stated alongside the result.

Yes. Cash prices vary and comparing them before assuming coverage is the only route is worth doing.

do the arithmetic before you reconstitute, not while holding a syringe

permalink

comment on three years of mg/mL threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/reconstitution · 45 points · 4 months ago

Small fix — a U-100 syringe is 100 units per mL. If yours is marked differently it is not U-100 and the whole calculation changes.

comment on hair loss — my 8-week log, condensed into one table in c/sideeffects · 1 points · 4 months ago

Small fix — the shedding follows the rate of weight loss, not the compound, and it is temporary.

permalink

comment on anyone else notice fatigue kicking in around week 46 in c/sideeffects · 69 points · 4 months ago

Correction: that is a known effect of reduced intake rather than a direct drug effect. The distinction matters because the fix is different.
