comment on [Vendor] MKM vs CPC on the same compound, same month — both cleared 97.0% in c/semaglutide · 10 points · 1 year ago

Are you measuring anything other than weight? Waist is usually the one that keeps moving.

comment on week 59 check-in — 17kg down, early fullness manageable, one thing confusing me in c/sideeffects · 338 points · 1 year ago

Severe or persistent abdominal pain sits outside the pattern this board can usefully discuss. The honest answer there is that it needs someone who can examine you.

comment on [Meta] the heart rate rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/sideeffects · 4 points · 1 year ago

Held the dose for an extra six weeks instead of stepping. The sulphur burps settled and I lost the same amount anyway.

Delayed gastric emptying is most pronounced early and attenuates with continued dosing, which is why the early fullness usually fades at a stable dose.

Compared cash prices across four pharmacies before pursuing coverage and the spread was larger than I expected.

Nothing in this thread is medical advice, including this comment. I am describing a mechanism, not telling anybody what to do about their own week.

Disagree with reading anything into that. One value, one morning, and you changed two other things in the same window.

comment on small win: plateau stopped being a problem at week 28 in c/semaglutide · 38 points · 2 years ago

The appetite thing was the surprise. I expected to feel full. What I got was simply not thinking about food between meals.

What did week 37 look like compared with this one? The month either side is the useful comparison.

Correcting myself from earlier in the thread: I said week 2 and it was week 10. Same shape, wrong number.

Which day of the week relative to the shot does it hit?

comment on the baseline labs question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/bloodwork · 68 points · 2 years ago

same lab, same conditions, or you are comparing noise

Adding the obvious one — take it to whoever ordered the panel. This board cannot read it for you.

the food noise going quiet is the effect people actually describe

I would not draw a line through two points, especially when the second was taken at a different time of day.

Do you have a baseline from before you started?

Have you taken this to whoever ordered it?

That is a non-fasting value and the interval you are comparing it against is a fasting one.

Weight change and appetite change are different endpoints on different timescales. Conflating them is where most of the confusion on this board starts.

That reads like advice, and none of us can give it.

Disagreeing with this one line: that symptom is not on the wait-and-see list and should not be posted as though it is.
