Overview — page 2 of 3

comment on appetite is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/glp1science · 30 points · 11 months ago

That study was in a rodent model. Worth stating, since the thread has been reading it as human data.

Correction: that is net peptide content, not purity. Different number, different meaning, and the document says so if you read the row label.

Area percent or net peptide content? They answer different questions.

comment on [Question] lowest effective dose — what am I missing here in c/maintenancephase · 2 points · 1 year ago

I would not treat a two-kilo range as drift requiring action. That is ordinary weight variation.

Perimenopausal, or is that a separate question?

Trial populations for the major programmes were not designed around the questions this board asks most often, which is why the evidence base here is genuinely thinner rather than merely harder to find.

lyophilised powder is far more forgiving than the panic threads suggest

comment on [Discussion] batch is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/coa · 16 points · 1 year ago

Water content 3.8%, acetate 6.2%, purity 99%, net peptide about 90% of label weight.

This is the sentence to take away. The rest of the thread is footnotes to it.

That trial did not enrol the population you are asking about, so it cannot answer this.

Receptor expression in a tissue is necessary but not sufficient for an effect. You also need the agonist to reach it at relevant exposure, and that is where a lot of confident mechanism talk falls down.

None of this is a taper plan. What dose holds for you is a question for somebody with your history in front of them.

Gel pack fully liquid on arrival, powder tested 99.6% against a claimed 99.0% afterwards. The pack had done its job for as long as it was designed to.

Put a logger in three consecutive orders. Two never went above the range at all and the third spent four hours warm on a Friday. Cost me almost nothing to stop wondering.

comment on unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about certificate of analysis is guesswork in c/coa · 133 points · 1 year ago

Not quite. Two labs with different gradients can resolve a close-eluting impurity differently and both be reporting honestly.

comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about excursion until somebody posts a number in c/coldchain · 521 points · 1 year ago

Once in solution, the relevant risks are hydrolysis, aggregation and, for some sequences, oxidation. Refrigeration slows all three; freezing a solution introduces a separate risk at the ice interface.

Same.

Disagreeing with this line: that endpoint is from the obesity programme and does not answer the question.

Panicked over a first-day sensor reading and rebuilt my week around it. It was the sensor.

Right — appetite returns before the scale moves, which is the early signal people miss.

comment on [Vendor] JEEP vs WXT on the same compound, same month — both cleared 98.5% in c/coa · 85 points · 1 year ago

Ask what the stability statement was written against — temperature, light, and whether it was the lyophilised powder or the reconstituted solution. Those are three different claims.

permalink

comment on the water content question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/coa · 588 points · 1 year ago

Net peptide content is the fraction of the powder that is actually peptide once counterion, water and residual solvent are accounted for. A 99% pure acetate salt can still be about 85% peptide by mass.

comment on [Vendor] WXT order #15 — Germany, 12 days, no drama, receipts inside in c/coldchain · 9 points · 1 year ago

Ordered from the warehouse in Germany instead of origin and the transit went from a fortnight to 15 days. Entirely different proposition in August.

Correction: 13kg over 8 months is a different claim from 13kg in a month, and the post reads as the second.
