Overview — page 3 of 3

comment on how much of what we believe about batch actually comes from purity threads in c/coa · 1.6k points · 1 year ago

Related substances itemised individually is a much stronger document than a single total, because it tells you the shape of the impurity profile rather than its size.

Correction: 15kg over 15 months is a different claim from 15kg in a month, and the post reads as the second.

Yes — and the reason to ask for the whole page is that the interesting parts are the ones people crop out to fit a screenshot.

Are the related substances itemised or is it a single total?

You cannot infer potency from a temperature record. The record tells you what happened to the box; only a test tells you what happened to the material.

comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about purity until somebody posts a number in c/coa · 271 points · 2 years ago

net peptide content and purity are two different numbers on the same vial

comment on stalled for 3 weeks at 0.5mg and I refuse to panic this time in c/maintenancephase · 1 points · 2 years ago

a few kilos of drift is not a relapse

Disagreeing with this bit: a two-kilo range is not drift and treating it as a problem creates one.

maintenance is where the logistics finally get boring, which is the point

Ask what the stability statement was written against — temperature, light, and whether it was the lyophilised powder or the reconstituted solution. Those are three different claims.

powder at room temperature for a few days is usually a non-event

Agreed on asking for the storage condition. It is one line and it changes how you read the entire stability claim.

comment on [Meta] the purity rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/coa · 8 points · 2 years ago

Not quite. Two labs with different gradients can resolve a close-eluting impurity differently and both be reporting honestly.

comment on does lyophilised actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/coldchain · 308 points · 2 years ago

Ordered from the warehouse in the Netherlands instead of origin and the transit went from a fortnight to 13 days. Entirely different proposition in August.

comment on someone explain incretin to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/glp1science · 136 points · 2 years ago

Correction: that is glucose-dependent insulin secretion, which is why hypoglycaemia risk is low as monotherapy. Not the same claim as you made.

Same view. HJ prints the column and the gradient, which means somebody could actually reproduce the run.

Area percent is the peak area of your compound over the total integrated area, at one wavelength, on one gradient. It is a relative measure of what the detector saw, not a mass fraction of the vial.

preclinical is not clinical and rodents are not small people

Started keeping a folder of every certificate I have been sent. The ones that itemise impurities are a small group and they are mostly the same suppliers.
