unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about goal weight is guesswork
unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about goal weight is guesswork, which sounds obvious until you try to state the evidence for it.
Drifted up 15kg over a winter and panicked. It came back off without any change, which is apparently just what weight does.
Two years at maintenance. The logistics are the only remaining work — ordering, storing, remembering.
Chased the last three kilos with a dose increase and got a fortnight of reflux and no change in the number.
Ask me anything specific. Anything general I will probably get wrong.
best — the order this archive was captured in
Maintenance is the phase with the least published guidance and the most individual variation, which is precisely why board consensus here is worth less than usual.
Body weight varies by a couple of kilos over days in stable people through fluid, glycogen and gut content. A range is not a trend.
the lowest effective dose is a real target and nobody talks about it
appetite returns before the scale acknowledges anything
Maintenance posts are the most underrated content here and they get a fraction of the votes.
The habits from the losing phase are what carry it now. That is not inspirational, it is just what happened.
Right — appetite returns before the scale moves, which is the early signal people miss.
Wrote down what maintenance would look like at about week 46, before I needed it. Having decided in advance made the transition boring.
That is a range, not a trend. Two weigh-ins 3 days apart cannot distinguish them.
Did you decide what maintenance would look like before you got here?
Yes. The habits have to outlive the dose or the maintenance phase is just a countdown.
the trials that looked at withdrawal are unambiguous about what follows
find the dose that holds, then stop optimising
Interval stretching changes the exposure profile: with a week-long half-life, moving to ten or twelve days lowers trough concentration more than it lowers average exposure. That is why appetite return is often the first thing noticed.
Correcting myself: 20 months at maintenance, not the figure I posted. I keep rounding it up.
Been at maintenance for 2 months on 2.5mg. Nothing happens. That is the whole report and it took me a while to accept it as success.
stretching the interval is not the same as reducing the dose
