week 53 check-in — 17kg down, muscle cramps manageable, one thing confusing me
week 53 check-in — 17kg down, muscle cramps manageable, one thing confusing me. Full detail below, and I have tried to keep the editorialising out of it.
Figures up front so nobody has to dig: week 53 and 17kg.
Kept one line a week for 15 months. It was pointless for the first eight weeks and then it was the most useful document I owned.
Exported the whole thing to a plain text file after nearly losing it in an app that shut down.
That is everything I have. The rest is opinion and I have tried to keep it out.

Reminder: no dose recommendations for other members, however the post is framed.
Added a sleep column late and immediately understood two of my worst weeks.
The attribution problem, which is the reason most logs on this board cannot answer the question their owner is asking.
If dose, training, intake and sleep all changed in the same fortnight, no analysis of the resulting numbers can tell you which one moved the outcome. That is not a limitation of your spreadsheet; it is a limitation of the design.
The fix is unglamorous: change one thing at a time, leave it long enough to see, and annotate the weeks where something else intruded anyway — because life will intrude. A log with honest annotations answers questions. A log with four simultaneous changes and a confident conclusion is the most common thing posted here, and it does not.
A log is a record of what you did. It is not a protocol, and posting one as a schedule for other members is a different thing that this board does not do.

amara_dziedzic is right about blanks. Silent gaps make the series lie.
That is a waist figure in the weight column. Easy mistake and it makes the chart look dramatic.
a missed week is data, write it down
retrospective logs drift, contemporaneous ones do not
Logged the missed weeks as blanks rather than skipping them. The gaps turned out to be the informative part.
the value of a log is in month six, not week one
the value of a log is in month six, not week one
This is the whole discipline in one line. Contemporaneous, consistent, minimal.
Are the missed weeks in there as blanks or dropped entirely?
Careful — posting a log as a schedule for other people to follow is not what this board is for.
Correction: those two entries are 21 weeks apart, not consecutive, which changes how the middle of that series reads.
