comment on week two, nothing is happening, everyone says that is normal, is it in c/newbiequestions · -31 points · 4 days ago

read the wiki first, then ask anyway

comment on what does titration actually mean in c/newbiequestions · 11 points · 4 days ago

the starting dose is not meant to be the dose that works

Adding the one habit worth starting today: write the concentration on the vial.

comment on i stopped eating at 70% full and the vomiting stopped entirely in c/sideeffects · 84 points · 5 days ago

Severe or persistent abdominal pain sits outside the pattern this board can usefully discuss. The honest answer there is that it needs someone who can examine you.

comment on [Trial Data] what the STEP 4 and SURMOUNT-4 withdrawal arms actually showed in c/tapering · 4 points · 6 days ago

Same. A quiet fortnight after stopping tells you very little; the interesting part starts later.

permalink

comment on do i need to keep it in the fridge before i mix it in c/newbiequestions · 50 points · 8 days ago

Agreed — week two with nothing on the scale is so common it should be in the sidebar. It probably is.

permalink

comment on [Regain] appetite came back over five weeks, here is the timeline in c/tapering · 4 points · 12 days ago

Correction: that study measured regain after discontinuation, not loss of effect during treatment. Very different findings.

permalink

comment on [Discussion] restarting is not failing and we should say that louder in c/tapering · 1 points · 14 days ago

Agreed. Appetite is the leading indicator and the scale is the lagging one. Watch the first, not the second.

permalink

comment on why do people talk about units and mg like they are different things in c/newbiequestions · 15 points · 28 days ago

What does the wiki page on this say — genuinely asking, not deflecting?

permalink

comment on how much of what we believe about interval stretching actually comes from tapering threads in c/tapering · 1 points · 1 months ago

regain is the expected outcome and framing it as failure helps nobody

permalink

comment on is the wiki up to date, and where do i start in it in c/newbiequestions · 0 points · 1 months ago

the first month is a tolerance check, not a results phase

Slight disagreement with this bit only, because a beginner reading it might take it as a plan rather than a description.

permalink

comment on tried discontinuation for 13 weeks. here is what happened. in c/tapering · -33 points · 1 months ago

Not convinced. Two weeks of stable weight is not evidence of anything yet.

permalink

comment on dose history is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/dosinglogs · 5 points · 1 months ago

That is a waist figure in the weight column. Easy mistake and it makes the chart look dramatic.

permalink

comment on hair loss: the version I wish someone had shown me in week 1 in c/sideeffects · 235 points · 2 months ago

The effect on gastric emptying is most pronounced early and attenuates with continued dosing, which is the mechanism behind the "it settles at a stable dose" pattern the whole board reports.

comment on reflux — 18 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/sideeffects · 1 points · 2 months ago

Small fix — the shedding follows the rate of weight loss, not the compound, and it is temporary.

sulphur burps are unpleasant and they are not dangerous

cormac_danquah is right about the timing. The day-of-week pattern is the diagnostic bit, not the severity.

comment on reflux — 18 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/sideeffects · 1 points · 2 months ago

That symptom is not the one being described upthread. Two different things with similar names and the answers are not interchangeable.

permalink

comment on [Discussion] the heart rate advice in here is 2 years out of date in c/sideeffects · 5 points · 2 months ago

How long after a step up did this start?

permalink

comment on genuine question about sulphur burps that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/sideeffects · 177 points · 2 months ago

A symptom that begins the day after the shot and fades by day four tracks the exposure curve. One that appears at random in week 36 probably does not, and that is worth saying to a clinician rather than to us.

permalink

comment on 6 months in and sulphur burps are still the thing I get wrong in c/sideeffects · 125 points · 3 months ago

the constipation that arrives at week 79 out of nowhere is usually something else

permalink

comment on constipation: the version I wish someone had shown me in week 1 in c/sideeffects · 173 points · 3 months ago

The fatigue turned out to be that I was eating about a third of what I thought I was. Tracked it for a week and the mystery evaporated.

permalink

comment on week 66 check-in — 26kg down, fatigue manageable, one thing confusing me in c/orforglipron · 29 points · 3 months ago

Push back: daily dosing is not automatically better adherence. It is a different failure mode, not a solved problem.

permalink

comment on my ApoB moved and I cannot work out whether beginner is why in c/newbiequestions · 125 points · 5 months ago

Concentration is mass over volume, and a U-100 syringe reads 100 units per millilitre. Those two facts are the whole of the arithmetic this board keeps explaining.

permalink

comment on what changed for me between month 5 and month 9 in c/newbiequestions · 2 points · 6 months ago

search first, but a repeat question is not a crime

permalink

comment on week 32 check-in — 9kg down, early fullness manageable, one thing confusing me in c/sideeffects · 435 points · 6 months ago

Nothing in this thread is medical advice, including this comment. I am describing a mechanism, not telling anybody what to do about their own week.

comment on [Meta] the gallbladder rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/sideeffects · 14 points · 6 months ago

Hair shedding after significant weight loss is a telogen effect that follows the rate of loss. It is not specific to these compounds and it resolves.

permalink

comment on [Meta] the gallbladder rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/sideeffects · 50 points · 6 months ago

How long has it been going on for now?

permalink

comment on help me understand interval stretching, I have read the wiki twice in c/tapering · 4 points · 7 months ago

What is prompting the decision — cost, supply, side effects, or something else?

permalink

comment on [Question] non-peptide — what am I missing here in c/orforglipron · 1 points · 7 months ago

a non-peptide agonist does not degrade the way a peptide does

permalink

comment on what would you tell week-1 you about reflux in c/sideeffects · 13 points · 7 months ago

injection-site soreness for the first eight days after each step, then nothing, every single time. Predictable enough that I started planning my week around it.

permalink

comment on what would you tell week-1 you about reflux in c/sideeffects · 8 points · 7 months ago

Agreed. Slowing down at meals did more for my sulphur burps than everything I bought to fix it, which was embarrassing to discover.

permalink

comment on week 53 check-in — 17kg down, muscle cramps manageable, one thing confusing me in c/dosinglogs · 1 points · 7 months ago

Careful — posting a log as a schedule for other people to follow is not what this board is for.

permalink

comment on small win: non-peptide stopped being a problem at week 82 in c/orforglipron · 17 points · 8 months ago

a non-peptide agonist does not degrade the way a peptide does

permalink

How long have you been logging?

permalink

comment on tried tracking for 20 weeks. here is what happened. in c/dosinglogs · 45 points · 8 months ago

A log is a record of what you did. It is not a protocol, and posting one as a schedule for other members is a different thing that this board does not do.

permalink

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify sulphur burps in c/sideeffects · 160 points · 10 months ago

Small fix — the shedding follows the rate of weight loss, not the compound, and it is temporary.

permalink

the tolerability profile reads broadly similar to the class

permalink

Severe, or unpleasant? They are genuinely different questions and the answers diverge.

permalink

comment on what changed for me between month 2 and month 9 in c/sideeffects · 77 points · 11 months ago

Severe or persistent abdominal pain sits outside the pattern this board can usefully discuss. The honest answer there is that it needs someone who can examine you.
