comment on [PSA] what went wrong is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/darkspot · 16 points · 9 months ago

Small correction — the shop in that story has no independent testing on file at all, which is different from having a bad record.

A quoted lead time is a commitment you can evaluate. Measuring quoted against actual across several orders tells you more about an operation than the raw speed does.

salt forms are the recurring argument and the answer is boring

shortage status changes and the whole arrangement changes with it

comment on [Meta] proposal — a flair for state board posts in c/compounding · 13 points · 11 months ago

Compounded preparations are not approved products and carry no bioequivalence claim. That is a statement about regulatory category, not about quality.

comment on [Results] 28 weeks on 10mg, full numbers, ask me anything boring in c/survodutide · 36 points · 11 months ago

Agreed — and the endpoint definitions are where the actual claim lives.

Adding the standing caveat — unapproved compound, research material is not for human use.

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify rules in c/meta · 1 points · 12 months ago

Sorted by controversial for a week and found four of the best threads I have read here.

Is that a weight number from a different programme?

Small fix — dual agonist, GLP-1 and glucagon.

Agreed — and the endpoint definitions are where the actual claim lives.

This. Biopsy-confirmed and imaging-suggested are different evidentiary categories and get run together constantly.

ask which facility, then ask for their testing

permalink

sponsor disclosure is on the about page in full

Agreed — concrete wording or it is not a proposal.

the titration in the trials was slow and deliberate

the thing that went wrong is usually procedural, not dramatic

Told everybody, then stopped, then had to tell everybody that too. That was harder than any of the rest of it.

comment on [Discussion] the moderation advice in here is 3 years out of date in c/meta · 3 points · 1 year ago

This. Modmail first is not bureaucracy; it stops individual cases turning into a public pile-on.

permalink

comment on the compounding question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/compounding · -9 points · 1 year ago

Careful. Naming a clinic without describing what actually happened turns this into a different kind of thread.

Carried an assumption over from the tirzepatide board and was corrected within an hour. Deserved.

comment on [Discussion] 503B is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/compounding · 27 points · 1 year ago

Push back: "compounded is fine because a pharmacy made it" skips every question this board exists to ask.

permalink

comment on how much of what we believe about amylin actually comes from co-agonism threads in c/cagrilintide · 1 points · 1 year ago

Agreed that the monotherapy numbers look modest out of context and that the context is the whole story.

permalink

comment on [Question] Ireland — has anyone got a straight answer on shortage list in c/compounding · 25 points · 1 year ago

Disagree — a 503B being registered does not make its preparations equivalent to an approved product. Different regulatory category entirely.

comment on [Vendor] JEEP order #3 — Ireland, 21 days, no drama, receipts inside in c/intlshipping · 13 points · 1 year ago

Total transit decomposes into first mile, international leg, clearance and last mile. Only the first two are meaningfully under the shipper’s control and most reported variance sits in the last two.

regional stock changes everything about transit

permalink

Same.

gradient_goblin is right about regional stock. It changes the shape of the distribution, not just the mean.

permalink

comment on someone explain state board to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/compounding · 524 points · 1 year ago

That figure is the starting material purity, not the finished preparation potency. Two different tests.

permalink

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify DHL in c/intlshipping · 7 points · 1 year ago

Disagree. That is a customs hold, not a carrier delay, and lumping them together makes the lane table wrong.

permalink

comment on lost money: the version I wish someone had shown me in week 1 in c/darkspot · 2 points · 1 year ago

Stopped for financial reasons and regained most of it. Not a moral story, just a budget and a documented outcome.

permalink

do not import intuitions from the obesity programmes

permalink

comment on help me understand telehealth, I have read the wiki twice in c/compounding · 1 points · 1 year ago

Correction: patient-specific refers to the prescription, not to a bespoke formulation. Common misreading and it changes the argument.

permalink

comment on [Question] carrier — what am I missing here in c/intlshipping · 963 points · 2 years ago

Four observations is not a distribution. The lane tables here only became predictive once individual routes had a dozen or more reports behind them.

Which receptor family are you attributing that effect to?

permalink

comment on small win: cagrilintide stopped being a problem at week 75 in c/cagrilintide · 32 points · 2 years ago

The tolerability tables were more informative than the headline numbers, which is usually the case and never how it gets summarised.

comment on [Lab] 8th independent test on JEEP — 97.2% on a claimed 97.0%, and the trend is the interesting part in c/survodutide · 4 points · 2 years ago

research material is not approved for human use, which is why the clinical record here is thin

permalink

the ranking formula is published, go and read it

permalink

comment on week 17 check-in — 4kg down, fatigue manageable, one thing confusing me in c/cagrilintide · 209 points · 2 years ago

Amylin is co-secreted with insulin and acts on satiety and gastric emptying through its own receptor complexes. An amylin analogue is therefore not a variant of an incretin agonist — it is a different signalling axis.

That is a packaging observation, not a transit observation. Worth posting, worth separating.

permalink

Left up and flaired Proposal — it has replacement wording, which is what this board asks for.

Adding the practical note — the formula is published and you can reproduce the ordering yourself.
