Not quite. Bacteriostatic and sterile water are not interchangeable for a multi-draw vial, and the difference is the preservative.
comment on the bacteriostatic water question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/reconstitution · 108 points · 1 year ago
Yes. Writing 5mg/mL on the vial takes four seconds and removes the entire class of error this board exists to fix.
comment on CagriSema: the version I wish someone had shown me in week 1 in c/cagrilintide · 70 points · 1 year ago
Right, and the tolerability data in the combination arms is the part worth reading properly rather than summarising.
comment on the reconstitution thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/reconstitution · 566 points · 1 year ago
Research-use-only material is not approved for human use, so treat everything in this thread as arithmetic about solutions rather than instructions for a person.

the number you write down is the number you will trust at 6am

comment on how much of what we believe about eGFR actually comes from A1c threads in c/bloodwork · 8 points · 1 year ago
I would not draw a line through two points, especially when the second was taken at a different time of day.
comment on [Results] 38 weeks, 6kg, and satiety was the hard part in c/cagrilintide · 18 points · 1 year ago
Is there any independent purity data on this compound that you have seen?
comment on how much of what we believe about ferritin actually comes from bloodwork threads in c/bloodwork · 69 points · 1 year ago
Fasting or not, and what time of day?
This is the sentence to read before anybody panics about a single value.
comment on someone explain insulin syringe to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/reconstitution · 392 points · 1 year ago
The lyophilised cake displaces a small volume, so the true concentration is very slightly lower than the arithmetic suggests. It is a fraction of a percent and it is dwarfed by fill tolerance.
comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about reconstitution until somebody posts a number in c/reconstitution · 64 points · 1 year ago

comment on does concentration actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/reconstitution · 94 points · 1 year ago
Adding more water does not change how much peptide is in the vial. It changes the concentration, which changes the volume you draw for the same amount. That is the entire relationship.
comment on [Meta] the dead space rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/reconstitution · 44 points · 2 years ago
Wrote the date on the vial as well as the concentration after losing track of which one was opened first.
comment on how much of what we believe about ApoB actually comes from baseline labs threads in c/bloodwork · 41 points · 2 years ago
Draw at the same point in the week now, fasting, same lab. The noise dropped enormously once I standardised.

Did anything else change in that window — training, intake, hydration?

Panicked about a single result, posted here, got told to repeat it, repeated it, and it was fine.
comment on genuine question about reconstitution that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/reconstitution · 1 points · 2 years ago
Is that a U-100 syringe? The barrel markings change the answer completely.
