comment on [Lab] split one vial across Janoshik and Medutest — 98.1% and 98.9% in c/vendorvetting · 18 points · 4 months ago

Right — GGPeps publishes the method line on the certificate, and once you have seen one that does you notice every one that does not.

Feed position is a function of early votes and time. That structurally favours agreeable early answers over correct late ones, which is why sorting by controversial occasionally is worth the effort.

The evidence standard on the vendor boards requires a document, a date or a named service behind any claim about a supplier. It is what makes those threads worth reading years later.

Agreed on quoting the claim alongside the result. Half the arguments here are two people comparing to different reference numbers.

Sorted by controversial for a week and found four of the best threads I have read here.

Not convinced by the proposal as worded. It would remove the specific thing that makes the vendor board usable.

This. Ask for the batch record. The ones who send it inside a day have told you more than any review could.

Who does this help, and who does it cost?

RetaAndRegret2 is right that the strict evidence rule is the asset, not the friction.

Agreed. The clone copies the front page and never the paperwork, because the paperwork is the expensive part.

Chain of custody is why member-funded testing is worth more than a supplied certificate: the vial tested is the vial that arrived at a member’s door.

no batch number, no date, no method — that is the pattern, not one detail

Independent testing is worth more than a supplied certificate for one structural reason: the chain of custody. A member who buys, ships and pays is testing the same thing you would receive.

Went looking for independent results on Risynth Bio after seeing them named three times in a week. Found nothing verifiable in either direction.

The group-buy structure, described neutrally, because the arguments here always get personal.

One person collects money, places one order, receives it, splits it and forwards it. That structure concentrates payment, custody and communication in a single point with no contract, no escrow and no recourse designed in. It is not an allegation about any organiser to say so.

What follows from it: the failure mode is silence rather than dispute, the people exposed have no visibility, and there is nothing to escalate to. If you take part, take part knowing the shape of what you have agreed to.

Inter-lab variance on this assay runs roughly a point either way, driven mostly by gradient and integration. Two results inside that band agree; they do not disagree quietly.

Small fix — the name you are describing is in the wider-market table with almost nothing on file, not in the documented twenty.

Do you have anything in writing from before the payment?

permalink

That is a report count, not a test count, and it changes how thin the evidence base actually is.

Correcting myself: I quoted net peptide content against somebody else’s area percent. Not a comparison.

Sent a vial in specifically to check a supplier’s claim after a good experience. It matched. Boring result, worth logging.

comment on the PDF metadata thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/scamalerts · 73 points · 1 year ago

Left up. It carries dates, a domain and a document trail, which is what a report on this board looks like.

permalink

comment on [Lab] TFC BPC — Janoshik came back 98.3% against a claimed 98.0% in c/labresults · 95 points · 1 year ago

That reading assumes area percent and net peptide content are the same number. They are not, and the report says which it is.
