comment on [Log] week 78, dose, weight, waist, sides, labs. nothing hidden. in c/dosinglogs · 38 points · 3 days ago

Attribution requires that one thing change at a time. A log with dose, training and intake all moving in the same fortnight cannot assign anything to any of them.

Asked which networks FGP accepted before ordering and picked the cheapest one at that hour. Saved more than the difference in price.

Cosigning on asking the pharmacy to check the wholesaler. It converts speculation into a fact in one phone call.

The four-week interval in the label is a minimum. Nothing about the pharmacology requires you to step on schedule, and the trials stepped on a calendar because trials have to.

Correcting myself upthread: it was 24 confirmations, not the number I posted, and it settled fine.

comment on why does GIP agonism seem to reduce nausea rather than add to it in c/glp1science · 5 points · 6 days ago

Small fix — it slows gastric emptying, it does not halt it, and the distinction matters for the mechanism you are proposing.

Sent a test amount first on a large order. Cost me a fraction of a percent and I have done it every time since.

A token symbol identifies an asset, not a network. The same symbol commonly exists on several chains with incompatible address formats, and sending across that boundary is generally unrecoverable.

comment on [Discussion] AU and NZ get lumped together and the systems are nothing alike in c/glp1aus · 1 points · 7 days ago

Right, and the compounded supply position moved. Threads from two years ago are describing a different situation.

Which network, exactly?

comment on [Results] 61 weeks, 34kg, one very boring spreadsheet in c/semaglutide · 80 points · 13 days ago

The weekly interval comes out of the half-life — roughly a week — so you are on a smooth curve rather than a series of spikes. That is also why moving your day slightly does very little.

Week 88 was the first time the scale moved after a five-week stall. I changed nothing in that window.

This. Complementary mechanisms rather than more of the same is the actual argument for the pairing.

permalink

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify confirmations in c/cryptopay · 5 points · 22 days ago

Yes — the same token symbol on two chains catches people constantly and it is unrecoverable.

permalink

comment on [Question] does the vial concentration change how much dead space costs me in c/tirzepatide · 1 points · 26 days ago

Yes. I stepped to 12.5 because the calendar said so, not because anything needed fixing, and I regretted it for a fortnight.

The thing nobody warned me about was how much of this is logistics — storing it, remembering it, the same day every week.

Added ApoB to the panel after a thread here. It told me something the standard lipid panel had been hiding.

Reference intervals are typically the central 95% of a reference population. By construction one person in twenty falls outside one on any given test without anything being wrong.

permalink

Correction: that is the combination programme, not the monotherapy readout. Different arms, different numbers.

Independent purity data on this compound is sparse compared with the older molecules, simply because far fewer members have paid for testing. Sparse data means wide uncertainty, not a verdict.

Push back: an unconfirmed transaction is not a missing payment. Wait for confirmations before escalating.

permalink

comment on [PSA] receptor is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/glp1science · 22 points · 2 months ago

Receptor expression in a tissue is necessary but not sufficient for an effect. You also need the agonist to reach it at relevant exposure, and that is where a lot of confident mechanism talk falls down.

SURMOUNT-1 ran 72 weeks with the top arm around 21% mean body weight change. SURPASS is the diabetes programme and reports glycaemic endpoints, so quoting the two interchangeably is a category error.

permalink

Contemporaneous records do not drift; reconstructed ones do, and the drift is systematic rather than random because memory smooths.

This is the whole discipline in one line. Contemporaneous, consistent, minimal.

permalink

comment on [Meta] the incretin rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/glp1science · 172 points · 2 months ago

The incretin effect is the observation that oral glucose provokes a larger insulin response than intravenous glucose at matched glycaemia, and the difference is mediated by gut hormones. That is the foundation the whole class sits on.

permalink

comment on [Results] 94 weeks, 34kg, and waist was the hard part in c/dosinglogs · 10 points · 3 months ago

A log is only interpretable if the conditions are consistent. Same day, same time, same state, same scale — otherwise you are recording measurement variability rather than change.
