comment on [Question] small molecule means purity testing is a different problem, right in c/orforglipron · 20 points · 4 days ago

oral and non-peptide is the whole engineering story

comment on [Question] declared value — does under-declaring help or hurt in c/customs · 25 points · 7 days ago

Right, and clearance time is not carrier time. Blaming the shipper for a customs queue is a category error.

Do you know what storage condition the stability statement covers?

permalink

fridge, not freezer, once it is in solution

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify personal import in c/customs · 22 points · 25 days ago

Where a supplier holds regional stock, the shipment is domestic and there is no import event at all. That is the structural fix rather than a workaround.

Disagree with the "more water is safer" framing. It is not safer, it is just a different number to divide by.

comment on [Discussion] personal import is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/customs · 15 points · 29 days ago

Yes — a hold and a seizure are different events with different processes, and this board mixes them weekly.

comment on help me understand non-peptide, I have read the wiki twice in c/orforglipron · 64 points · 1 months ago

Milligram comparisons across molecule classes are meaningless. Potency is a property of the molecule at its receptor, not of the number on the label.

Powder or already in solution?

comment on [Meta] the NHS rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/glp1uk · 1 points · 1 months ago

Supply notices from the regulator describe expected availability at a national level. They do not predict what any individual pharmacy has on the shelf next week.

comment on the bacteriostatic water thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/reconstitution · 7 points · 1 months ago

Shook the first vial because nobody told me not to. It was fine, but I have swirled every one since.

comment on [Discussion] the bacteriostatic water advice in here is 3 years out of date in c/reconstitution · 6 points · 1 months ago

Same. I got this wrong once, caught it because the units looked absurd, and have written on every vial since.

a non-peptide agonist does not degrade the way a peptide does

Ordered from the warehouse in Sweden instead of origin and the transit went from a fortnight to 10 days.

This is the distinction that resolves most threads here — powder and solution are different problems.

permalink

comment on help me understand pharmacy, I have read the wiki twice in c/glp1uk · 3 points · 2 months ago

Concentrations can differ between products and between pharmacies. Switching mid-titration means redoing the arithmetic rather than carrying the old unit count across.

That is a question for somebody qualified where you live, not for a ranked feed.

small molecule, not a peptide, and that changes everything about it

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring pharmacy at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/glp1uk · 42 points · 3 months ago

Small fix — that is the Scottish pathway.

This is why national advice does not work here. It is commissioned locally and it varies.

comment on [Question] Australia — has anyone got a straight answer on packaging in c/coldchain · 0 points · 3 months ago

What was the packaging — rigid outer, gel packs, anything insulating?

Adding the practical version: ask which lines are held regionally before you order in July.

comment on unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about UK is guesswork in c/glp1uk · 1 points · 4 months ago

Is this a discharge back to the GP, or a discontinuation?

permalink

comment on three years of mg/mL threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/reconstitution · 31 points · 4 months ago

Yes. Writing 5mg/mL on the vial takes four seconds and removes the entire class of error this board exists to fix.

permalink

comment on genuine question about oral GLP-1 that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/orforglipron · 0 points · 4 months ago

Careful — purity methods for peptides do not read across to a small molecule and the numbers are not equivalent.

Read both programme names carefully after mixing them up in a comment and being politely corrected.

comment on mg/mL — 16 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/reconstitution · 20 points · 6 months ago

That only works if the fill weight is exactly the label weight, and it usually is not exactly anything.

permalink

comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about packaging until somebody posts a number in c/coldchain · 9 points · 7 months ago

Gel packs are designed for a duty cycle. A liquid pack at the end of a longer-than-expected transit is a pack behaving as specified, not evidence of an excursion in the vial.

permalink

comment on stability is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/coldchain · 1 points · 8 months ago

the excursion that matters is the one after reconstitution

permalink

comment on three years of declared value threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/customs · 84 points · 9 months ago

Careful — that guidance is several years old and the rules where you are have moved since.

Disagreeing with this line: that is the position in a different country and it does not transfer.

permalink

comment on non-peptide: what the trials say vs what this community says in c/orforglipron · 6 points · 9 months ago

I would not assume the tolerability profile transfers exactly. Similar class effects, different exposure profile.

if it matters, ask somebody qualified in your own jurisdiction

comment on [PSA] stability is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/coldchain · 520 points · 11 months ago

Split an order across two months deliberately to compare summer and winter transit on the same lane. Four days difference, same carrier.

permalink

comment on [Discussion] the reconstitution advice in here is 3 years out of date in c/reconstitution · 55 points · 11 months ago

Wrote the date on the vial as well as the concentration after losing track of which one was opened first.

Disagreeing with this line only: adding more water is not a safety margin, it is a different divisor.

permalink

comment on the insulin syringe thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/reconstitution · 22 points · 12 months ago

write the concentration on the vial in marker, that is the whole post

permalink

comment on does jurisdiction actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/customs · 1 points · 1 year ago

Small fix — those rules apply to commercial import. Personal import is governed separately and more narrowly.
