comment on what went wrong is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/darkspot · 80 points · 1 year ago
Chased the scale instead of the measurements for a year and made myself miserable for no additional progress.

Push back: your plan is an employer plan, which changes both the appeal path and who the regulator is.

That was a hold rather than a loss, and it resolved. Updating rather than deleting.

What would you do differently, specifically?

comment on tried protein for 24 weeks. here is what happened. in c/glp1muscle · -16 points · 1 year ago
Some lean mass loss accompanies weight loss in any deficit. Resistance training and adequate protein intake are the two interventions with the best evidence for limiting the proportion.
comment on [Lab] TFC BPC — Janoshik came back 98.3% against a claimed 98.0% in c/labresults · 40 points · 1 year ago
Correction: that is the claimed figure, and the measured one is the higher of the two in your own screenshot.
Disagreeing with this line: that gap is ordinary variance, not a contradiction between the lab and the certificate.
comment on someone explain lean mass to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/glp1muscle · 1 points · 1 year ago
Correction: those scans are from different machines, and the difference you are describing is within the measurement error.

lean mass loss during weight loss is expected, the question is how much

this board exists so the failures are on the record too
comment on [Meta] the Janoshik rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/labresults · 3 points · 1 year ago
Yes — date of analysis, because a result from two years ago describes a different manufacturing month.

ERP BPC, batch matched the paperwork, Medutest came back 98.1% against a claimed 97.5%. Paid for it myself, posting it because the log is only worth anything if people do.

What was the claim on the certificate you are comparing against?

Brought the whole set to my clinician rather than one flagged value. Completely different conversation.

That advice is jurisdiction-specific and this board spans several. Say where you are.
comment on [Lab] 14th independent test on GGPeps — 98.3% on a claimed 97.5%, and the trend is the interesting part in c/labresults · 488 points · 2 years ago
What a result posted here is actually worth, and how to make yours worth more.
A single figure with no batch identifier is about a vial nobody can locate. Add the batch and it becomes about a lot. Add the claimed figure from the certificate and it becomes a comparison. Add the service and the date and it becomes reproducible. Say that you paid for it yourself and it becomes independent.
Five extra fields, thirty seconds of typing, and the difference between a comment and a row in the log that will still be useful in three years.

Is that the same assay, or did the lab change platforms?

comment on does Medutest actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/labresults · 40 points · 2 years ago
Date of analysis anchors the result to a manufacturing period. A two-year-old result is evidence about two years ago and should be read that way.

Not convinced by the comparison.
Disagreeing with this line: that gap is ordinary variance, not a contradiction between the lab and the certificate.
