On the thin testing history in this board, and what to do about it.

Most of the compounds discussed here have a handful of independent results across the entire site, and several have none. That is a fact about how few members have paid for testing, not a judgement about the material.

What follows: buy small, test identity first for anything unusual, and post the result even when it is unremarkable. The vendor source pages are built from exactly these submissions, and the compounds with the thinnest coverage are the ones where one more entry changes the picture most. Research material is not approved for human use, so what this board can usefully build is an analytical record.

What the ranking does, in case you assume it is hiding something.

The hot ordering combines the magnitude of a submission’s score with its age, so that a new post with moderate support can outrank an older one with more. The controversial ordering weights total vote volume by how evenly it splits, so a heavily contested thread rises above a small evenly-split one.

Both are published, and both are reproducible from the score and timestamp shown on every submission — one member here rebuilt the ordering in a spreadsheet to check. The consequence worth knowing is structural: feed position rewards early agreement, so the top comment is frequently not the best answer. Sorting by controversial occasionally is genuinely worth doing.

Yes — the rodent literature is real and it is rodent literature. The gap to a human claim is enormous and it gets crossed in one sentence here.

The published literature is overwhelmingly preclinical and largely in rodent models. The individual papers are generally more modest in their claims than the summaries that circulate. Human clinical trial evidence for the claims most often repeated in these threads is very limited.

That is not an argument that nothing is happening in the preclinical work — some of it is genuinely interesting. It is an argument that the distance between "this happened in a rodent model" and "this will happen in a person" is large, uncertain, and crossed silently in nearly every confident post on this board, including some of mine from two years ago.

Withdrawal studies across this class consistently show substantial regain after discontinuation. Appetite typically returns first, well before weight changes. This is a finding about the pharmacology of a chronic condition, in the same way that blood pressure rises again when an antihypertensive is stopped.

People on this board quit in shame over an entirely predictable result, and then avoid coming back because they have interpreted it as a personal failure. It is not. Knowing that in advance is the single most useful thing this board can offer anybody planning to stop.

A shoulder that does not baseline-resolve cannot be quantified honestly. You can report it as an unresolved shoulder, which is useful information, or you can develop the method until it resolves.

That is area percent, not mass percent. The trace cannot give you the second one.
