comment on is 96.8% area% actually fine or am i being sold a rounding error in c/coa · 92 points · 1 days ago

this thread has already been worth more than the last twenty i read

comment on [Seizure] letter arrived, no prosecution, here is exactly what it said in c/customs · 2 points · 2 days ago

Asked somebody qualified locally rather than relying on this board. Best forty minutes I have spent on the topic.

comment on WXT and BCH put water content on the COA when nobody asks for it, and i think that is the tell in c/vendorvetting · 88 points · 2 days ago

i genuinely did not know water was invisible to the detector. that reframes about half of what i thought i understood.

oh. so the number is not the issue, the missing breakdown is the issue.

comment on two labs, same vial, 98.1 and 96.4. both right? in c/hplc · 71 points · 2 days ago

i have been treating the higher number as the true one this whole time. edit: and specifically i once emailed a vendor about a 1.2 point gap. i would like that email back.

i had absolutely made that mistake before reading this

doing that. edit: sent to Janoshik, will post in c/labresults either way even if it makes me look silly.

comment on [Explainer] area% is not mass% and here is exactly why it matters to your vial in c/coa · 74 points · 3 days ago

i have been on this site four months and this is the first time the two numbers have made sense. edit: went back and re-read three of my own old posts and i was confusing them in all of them.

Shipped from regional stock or from origin?

comment on bought a second-hand HPLC. worst best decision of my life. AMA in c/hplc · 143 points · 3 days ago

genuine question — did it change what you buy, or just how you talk about it?

comment on net peptide content vs purity — two different numbers, same vial, and only one is on your COA in c/coa · 68 points · 5 days ago

so a 10mg vial might have nine milligrams of peptide and everyone involved has been honest. edit: yes, per the table in the other thread. this is the least satisfying accurate answer i have received.

the naming situation in this industry is genuinely hostile to newcomers

waist monthly, weight weekly, notes whenever

This is the whole discipline in one line. Contemporaneous, consistent, minimal.

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify personal import in c/customs · 8 points · 24 days ago

if it matters, ask somebody qualified in your own jurisdiction

permalink

comment on what changed for me between month 9 and month 13 in c/dosinglogs · 3 points · 1 months ago

Are the missed weeks in there as blanks or dropped entirely?

permalink

comment on someone explain import to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/customs · 21 points · 2 months ago

Clearance took four days and the carrier took eleven. I had been blaming entirely the wrong stage for a year.

Rate of change is not a virtue.

Adding the thing I wish someone had said to me — the goal you picked at week one was a guess.

comment on log is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/dosinglogs · 35 points · 3 months ago

Retitled — a log is a record, not a protocol, and the original read as a schedule for others to follow.

Disagreeing with this bit: daily weighing gives you noise and costs you something.

Removed an image link.

This is the one I would put in the sidebar. The middle is where everyone lives.

consistent conditions or you are logging noise

permalink

Yes. The middle is where everybody actually lives and almost nobody posts from it.

comment on unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about customs is guesswork in c/customs · 30 points · 10 months ago

Research-use-only labelling is a description of intended use, not a customs classification.

Agreed — read the notice before deciding what has happened. Most of the panic here is misclassification.

Kept every document including the dull ones. When a process started, having the dates in order made it short.

Wrote the concentration into the log as well as on the vial. Have referred back to it more than once.

Agreed on asking what documentation accompanies a shipment. Suppliers who ship regionally usually have a clear answer.
