[Discussion] we are measuring DHL at the wrong time and calling it noise

Discussion Receipts ×5 Slow Clap ×3

we are measuring DHL at the wrong time and calling it noise, which sounds obvious until you try to state the evidence for it.

Four observations is not a distribution. The lane tables here only became predictive once individual routes had a dozen or more reports behind them.

Kept a spreadsheet of quoted versus actual across a year. The quote held; the variance was all in the last mile.

Ordered from the warehouse in Australia instead of origin and the whole customs question disappeared. 12 days, door to door.

If somebody has the same thing measured a different way, post it next to mine and we will see whether they agree.

Regional stock replaces an international lane with a domestic one. That is a structural change to the distribution, not a marginal improvement, and it is why the warehouse question matters more than the carrier question.

This is why the lane table is organised the way it is. The supplier is not the unit.

ask which lines are actually held in the regional warehouse

About c/intlshipping

Shipping-lane intelligence: origin to destination, carrier, quoted versus actual transit, packaging quality and reship outcomes. The community lane table lives here. Tracking numbers are removed on sight because they identify both ends of the shipment.
