[Discussion] carrier is doing more work than we give it credit for

Discussion Receipts ×6 Slow Clap ×1 Cold Box ×2

Thinking out loud about this: carrier is doing more work than we give it credit for.

Asked WXT which lines they hold regionally before ordering and got a straight list back. Changed what I ordered and when.

Clearance took three days and the carrier took nine. I had been blaming the wrong half for two years.

Four observations is not a distribution. The lane tables here only became predictive once individual routes had a dozen or more reports behind them.

Ask me anything specific. Anything general I will probably get wrong.

A lane is an origin, a destination, a carrier and a season. Change any one and the distribution changes, which is why supplier-level shipping averages are close to meaningless.

A lane is an origin, a destination, a carrier and a season.

Adding the field everyone forgets — the month. Without it the report is not comparable to anything.

two identical orders a week apart is the cheapest experiment available

That is a packaging observation, not a transit observation. Worth posting, worth separating.

no tracking numbers, ever
