comment on amylin is not a GLP-1 and the co-agonism story is more interesting than the weight number in c/cagrilintide · 26 points · 2 days ago

Bought small deliberately because the evidence base is thin. That felt like the only defensible approach.

comment on [PCOS] insulin resistance, cycles, and the thing that finally worked in c/glp1women · 10 points · 3 days ago

Same. Perimenopause overlapping with all of this is the least documented area on the whole site.

comment on [Results] perimenopause, 18 months, and why the usual advice failed me in c/glp1women · 1 points · 9 days ago

Hormonal variation across the cycle affects appetite, fluid retention and subjective symptom intensity independently of anything else, which is why an unannotated log can look mysterious.

comment on [Discussion] cagri is the most underrated molecule in this space in c/cagrilintide · 8 points · 13 days ago

Correction: that is the combination programme, not the monotherapy readout. Different arms, different numbers.

permalink

comment on [Caution] not approved anywhere. keep posts descriptive. in c/cagrilintide · 52 points · 22 days ago

I would not extrapolate the tolerability profile from the monotherapy arm to the combination. The trials report them separately for a reason.

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring compounding at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/compounding · 23 points · 28 days ago

Disagree — a 503B being registered does not make its preparations equivalent to an approved product. Different regulatory category entirely.

The same dose genuinely feels different at different points in the month for me. Took a year to notice and it was in the log the whole time.

comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about province until somebody posts a number in c/glp1canada · 96 points · 1 months ago

Nothing here is medical or legal advice. The pharmacist and the prescriber are the people who can act, and both are faster than a forum.

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring state board at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/compounding · 2 points · 1 months ago

That figure is the starting material purity, not the finished preparation potency. Two different tests.

permalink

comment on [Meta] the 503A rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/compounding · 52 points · 1 months ago

Same view. If the intake asked you nothing, the intake was a formality and you should factor that in.

comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about satiety until somebody posts a number in c/cagrilintide · 22 points · 1 months ago

nothing here is approved as a standalone product and research material is not for human use

permalink

comment on [Results] 90 weeks, full dose-and-weight table, ask me anything in c/progresspics · 12 points · 1 months ago

Body weight varies by a couple of kilos day to day through fluid, glycogen and gut content, which is why a single weigh-in is noise and a fortnightly trend is signal.

permalink

comment on [Question] API source — what am I missing here in c/compounding · 128 points · 2 months ago

Switched between two compounded preparations and the concentration on the label was different. Redid the arithmetic on paper before drawing anything.

comment on small win: non-scale victory stopped being a problem at week 61 in c/progresspics · 12 points · 2 months ago

That is a waist measurement, not a weight, and the thread has been comparing them as though they were the same.

permalink

the pharmacy and the prescriber are two separate questions

comment on [PSA] milestone is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/progresspics · 160 points · 3 months ago

This. Waist measurement kept moving through my longest stall and it was the only thing that kept me sane.

permalink

comment on [Question] Canada — what am I missing here in c/glp1canada · 11 points · 3 months ago

Agreed on keeping every form and date. When something goes wrong the paper trail is the whole case.

permalink

comment on [Question] Canada — has anyone got a straight answer on special authorization in c/glp1canada · 19 points · 4 months ago

Quantity limits restrict how much may be dispensed in a period even where coverage exists. They are a distinct barrier and require a distinct request.

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify milestone in c/progresspics · 2 points · 5 months ago

the first person to notice was me, months after it started

Agreed — measurements over photographs, every time, for anybody trying to actually track something.

permalink

comment on genuine question about shortage list that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/compounding · 4 points · 5 months ago

503A is patient-specific, 503B is outsourcing facility, they are not the same thing

permalink

comment on someone explain Canada to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/glp1canada · 10 points · 6 months ago

The three separate questions people ask here as though they were one.

Agreed — write the application against the published criteria rather than around them.

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring telehealth at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/compounding · 4 points · 6 months ago

Potency and sterility testing on the finished preparation are separate from any certificate covering the starting material. Ask which you are being shown.

comment on help me understand shortage list, I have read the wiki twice in c/compounding · 81 points · 8 months ago

Salt form matters for mass: a preparation specified as one salt and dosed as the free base gives you a different amount of peptide for the same number on the label.

permalink

comment on the 503A question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/compounding · 22 points · 9 months ago

Yes. The shortage list is the legal hinge for the whole arrangement and its status is public.

permalink

comment on private plan — 20 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/glp1canada · 5 points · 10 months ago

National regulatory approval establishes that a product may be sold. Whether any plan pays for it is a separate decision, and public drug plans are administered provincially.

permalink

comment on special authorization is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/glp1canada · 1 points · 11 months ago

Not convinced. A rejected claim at the counter is not a denied authorization and the next step differs.

permalink

comment on why does nobody talk about EU in c/glp1eu · 184 points · 11 months ago

Published reimbursement criteria exist in most member states and are usually available in the national language. They are the authoritative answer to eligibility questions that this board can only guess at.

santiago_marchetti is right that a diagnosis and a finding are different things here.

Dosing intuitions from the GLP-1 boards do not transfer. Different receptor family, different exposure-response, and no published schedule for members to reason from.

permalink

comment on does compounding actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/compounding · 45 points · 1 year ago

Compounded preparations are not approved products and carry no bioequivalence claim. That is a statement about regulatory category, not about quality.

Small fix — those two prices are for different pack sizes, which accounts for most of the gap.

permalink

comment on [Results] 24 weeks on 12.5mg, full numbers, ask me anything boring in c/glp1women · 10 points · 1 year ago

I would not read one person’s cycle-linked experience as a general pattern. The variation here is enormous.

permalink

comment on [Results] 2 weeks on 7.5mg, full numbers, ask me anything boring in c/cagrilintide · 24 points · 1 year ago

Independent purity data on this compound is sparse compared with the older molecules, simply because far fewer members have paid for testing. Sparse data means wide uncertainty, not a verdict.

permalink

Correction: that is the authorisation position, and the question was about reimbursement. Different bodies, different answers.
