comment on [Sceptic] every new three-letter analog needs a data table before a hype thread in c/researchpeptides · 1 points · 1 days ago

For any compound with a thin testing history, identity is the first question. Mass spectrometry against a theoretical mass answers it; an area-percent purity figure does not.

comment on [PSA] your bac water is fine, your fridge door is not in c/reconstitution · 36 points · 1 days ago

The arithmetic in full: concentration is mass over volume, so 15mg into 1mL gives 15mg/mL. A U-100 syringe is graduated at 100 units per millilitre, so 0.75mg is 0.75 divided by 15 millilitres, which is 5 units.

Careful — that arithmetic is wrong. 15mg in 2mL is 7.5mg/mL, so 0.75mg draws to 10 units, not what you wrote.

Are you asking about the compound, the weight loss, or both?

comment on amylin is not a GLP-1 and the co-agonism story is more interesting than the weight number in c/cagrilintide · 0 points · 2 days ago

Careful — that is a dosing intuition carried over from another board and there is no basis for it here.

comment on mg ÷ mL, that is the whole formula, why did i find this hard in c/reconstitution · 18 points · 3 days ago

If your calculation produces a fraction of a unit, the concentration is wrong for your dose. Change the water volume until the numbers land on whole units.

comment on [Explainer] evidence levels: in vitro, rodent, human. say which one you mean. in c/researchpeptides · 1 points · 5 days ago

Agreed — identity first for anything off the well-travelled list. The purity number is meaningless until you know what it is pure of.

comment on [Update] week 12 — the honest version, including the two missed doses in c/dosinglogs · 98 points · 12 days ago

Annotation is what makes a log survive contact with your future self.

This is the whole discipline in one line. Contemporaneous, consistent, minimal.

comment on reconstituted at 1mL instead of 2mL and caught it before injecting. lucky. in c/reconstitution · 7 points · 17 days ago

Reconstituted at 2mL when I meant to use a different volume. Caught it because the units looked wrong on the barrel. Now I write 10mg/mL on the glass before I put the cap back.

Show the arithmetic — where did the unit figure come from?

permalink

comment on [Caution] not approved anywhere. keep posts descriptive. in c/cagrilintide · 89 points · 22 days ago

Nothing containing this compound is approved as a standalone product, and research-use-only material is not approved for human use.

comment on [Results] two years, weight stable within 3kg, dose at a quarter of peak in c/maintenancephase · 20 points · 22 days ago

stretching the interval is not the same as reducing the dose

permalink

comment on [Regain] appetite came back over about five weeks, not overnight in c/maintenancephase · 128 points · 1 months ago

None of this is a taper plan. What dose holds for you is a question for somebody with your history in front of them.

comment on three years of reconstitution threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/reconstitution · 97 points · 1 months ago

Research-use-only material is not approved for human use, so treat everything in this thread as arithmetic about solutions rather than instructions for a person.

Is the goal weight still the one you picked at the start?

Net peptide content on the certificate?

permalink

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify satiety in c/cagrilintide · 6 points · 2 months ago

Amylin is co-secreted with insulin and acts on satiety and gastric emptying through its own receptor complexes. An amylin analogue is therefore not a variant of an incretin agonist — it is a different signalling axis.

permalink

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify satiety in c/cagrilintide · 4 points · 2 months ago

Yes. Anyone reading this board should hold their conclusions loosely until phase 3 reports.

permalink

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify TB-500 in c/researchpeptides · -14 points · 2 months ago

if nobody has tested it here, that is a fact about us, not the compound

permalink

comment on [Results] 94 weeks, 34kg, and waist was the hard part in c/dosinglogs · 5 points · 2 months ago

Kept one line a week for 11 months. It was pointless for the first eight weeks and then it was the most useful document I owned.

Perimenopause and all of this at once, and there is essentially nothing written about the combination anywhere.

What concentration did you actually reconstitute at, rather than what did you intend to?

permalink

comment on three years of dead space threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/reconstitution · 1 points · 4 months ago

Correction: that gives 10 units, not what you have written.

Adding one thing — put the date on the label too. Concentration plus date and you can never mix two vials up.

I keep a laminated card in the drawer with the arithmetic on it. Looks ridiculous. Has never once let me draw the wrong volume.

Yes — write the concentration in the log as well as on the vial. Belt and braces and it costs nothing.

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring long term at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/maintenancephase · 3 points · 7 months ago

copay_card_cc is right that stretching and reducing are different levers.

Disagreeing with this bit: a two-kilo range is not drift and treating it as a problem creates one.

comment on small win: fertility stopped being a problem at week 55 in c/glp1women · 143 points · 8 months ago

Telogen shedding follows a period of significant weight change rather than a specific compound, and it resolves.

permalink

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify reconstitution in c/reconstitution · 153 points · 8 months ago

Adding one thing — put the date on the label too.

Right, and the arithmetic behind it: 5mg in 1mL is 5mg/mL, so 2mg is 40 units.

permalink

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring dose stretching at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/maintenancephase · 5 points · 8 months ago

Agreed that a few kilos of drift is ordinary. Weight is not a fixed number even for people who have never taken anything.

permalink

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring dose stretching at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/maintenancephase · 61 points · 8 months ago

Yes — interval stretching and dose reduction are different levers and people use the words interchangeably.
