comment on [Question] why does the satiety feel qualitatively different in c/cagrilintide · -6 points · 9 days ago

Combination and monotherapy arms must be read separately. Efficacy and tolerability both differ substantially between them and summaries routinely blur the two.

None of this is a taper plan. What dose holds for you is a question for somebody with your history in front of them.

The template is vendor, compound, batch, service, claim, result, and who paid. Every one of those fields exists because a result missing it has been argued about here before.

Date of analysis anchors the result to a manufacturing period. A two-year-old result is evidence about two years ago and should be read that way.

Agreed that the monotherapy numbers look modest out of context and that the context is the whole story.

comment on small win: goal weight stopped being a problem at week 19 in c/maintenancephase · 209 points · 6 months ago

Stretched from seven to ten days and then to twelve over about four months. Appetite told me where the limit was before the scale did.

None of this is a taper plan.

Agreed — and appetite is the leading indicator. The scale is the lagging one.

If the report gives a mass spectrum as well as UV purity, say so. Identity and relative quantity are separate claims and the log tracks both.

regain after stopping is the expected outcome, not a personal failure

comment on does goal weight actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/maintenancephase · 38 points · 10 months ago

Correction: that trial measured regain after withdrawal, not failure of the drug during treatment. Very different claim.

Yes. Anyone reading this board should hold their conclusions loosely until phase 3 reports.

Did you decide what maintenance would look like before you got here?

Amylin is co-secreted with insulin and acts on satiety and gastric emptying through its own receptor complexes. An amylin analogue is therefore not a variant of an incretin agonist — it is a different signalling axis.

nausea profile in the combination trials is the thing to read carefully

Chain of custody is why member-funded testing is worth more than a supplied certificate: the vial tested is the vial that arrived at a member’s door.

Right — appetite returns before the scale moves, which is the early signal people miss.

Dose reduction and interval extension are different interventions. Halving the dose keeps the rhythm and lowers the level; stretching keeps the level and lowers the frequency, with a lower trough.

I would not post that as a finding. It is a single result and the template asks you to say so.

Are you comparing against a GLP-1 monotherapy result? They are not comparable.

comment on [Results] 38 weeks, 6kg, and satiety was the hard part in c/cagrilintide · 3 points · 1 year ago

Correcting myself upthread: I gave the 94-week figure and the paper reports 45 weeks.

nothing here is approved as a standalone product and research material is not for human use

This is the distinction that keeps this board honest — different axis, not a stronger version of the same one.

Drifted up 17kg over a winter and panicked. It came back off without any change, which is apparently just what weight does.

appetite returns before the scale acknowledges anything

Disagreeing with this bit: a two-kilo range is not drift and treating it as a problem creates one.

Cosigning on planning it in advance. Deciding what maintenance looks like while still losing is much easier than deciding it in a panic.
