If your calculation produces a fraction of a unit, the concentration is wrong for your dose. Change the water volume until the numbers land on whole units.

That is sterile water, not bacteriostatic. Same appearance, different product, and it matters for a multi-draw vial.

Potency and sterility testing on the finished preparation are separate from any certificate covering the starting material. Ask which you are being shown.

Right — the volume you add is the only variable you control here, and the cake does not change it meaningfully.

Asked which facility and got a name straight away. Looked it up, found the registration, felt considerably better about the whole thing.

What concentration did you actually reconstitute at, rather than what did you intend to?

Yes. The shortage list is the legal hinge for the whole arrangement and its status is public.

Is the compound still on the shortage list where you are?

Yes. Writing 2.5mg/mL on the vial takes four seconds and removes the entire class of error this board exists to fix.

5mg into 3mL is 1.67mg/mL, and 0.5mg of that is 30 units

Spent 6 weeks confused about this until somebody drew the table for me. 10mg, 2mL, 5mg/mL, 2.5mg is 50 units. That is the whole thing.

Bacteriostatic water contains benzyl alcohol as a preservative, which is what makes repeated entry into the same vial reasonable. Plain sterile water has no preservative.
