Overview — page 2 of 3

comment on unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about MHRA is guesswork in c/glp1uk · 15 points · 1 year ago

the MHRA supply notices are published, read them before the panic threads

comment on someone explain progress to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/progresspics · -2 points · 1 year ago

the first person to notice was me, months after it started

comment on [Discussion] progress is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/progresspics · 9 points · 1 year ago

progress is not linear and nobody’s is

the clothes change before the number does

Slight disagreement: that is a month, not a plateau, and calling it one makes it heavier than it is.

Correcting my own post above — that was week 77, not the week I wrote. Same story, wrong number.

comment on the compounding question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/compounding · 1 points · 1 year ago

the shortage list is the whole legal hinge and people skip it

permalink

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring lowest effective dose at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/maintenancephase · 64 points · 1 year ago

the lowest effective dose is a real target and nobody talks about it

comment on [PSA] compounding is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/compounding · 3 points · 1 year ago

the API source is the question nobody asks and everybody should

comment on [Discussion] below spec is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/labresults · 1 points · 1 year ago

Tested three lots over a year rather than three vials from one lot. Cost the same and told me something completely different.

Small fix — same supplier, different lot. The two rows in the log are not the same batch.

Have now spent more on testing than on some of the orders. No regrets — the log is the reason I can buy without agonising.

Right, and reading the actual supply notice rather than the coverage of it saves a fortnight of speculation.

comment on [Question] Ireland — has anyone got a straight answer on shortage list in c/compounding · 58 points · 1 year ago

Kept the label from every vial. When the shortage status changed, having the paper trail made the conversation much shorter.

Not convinced — the US threads are a different system entirely and importing their advice here does real harm.

Correction: that is the claimed figure, and the measured one is the higher of the two in your own screenshot.

Two years and four months on a tier 3 list. Referral date and every letter kept, which turned out to matter when the service reorganised.

comment on why does nobody talk about purity in c/labresults · 378 points · 1 year ago

The template is vendor, compound, batch, service, claim, result, and who paid. Every one of those fields exists because a result missing it has been argued about here before.

What was the non-scale thing that told you first?

comment on the lowest effective dose thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/maintenancephase · 4 points · 1 year ago

the trials that looked at withdrawal are unambiguous about what follows

Adding one thing — decide what maintenance looks like before you arrive at it.

an online consultation that asks you nothing is not a consultation

comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about MHRA until somebody posts a number in c/glp1uk · 78 points · 1 year ago

Careful, that pricing figure is a headline offer with conditions attached rather than the actual monthly cost.

permalink

comment on three years of API source threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/compounding · 211 points · 1 year ago

The shortage list is the legal hinge: the permissions that allow certain compounding to happen at scale are tied to a drug’s shortage status, which changes.

This. Waist measurement kept moving through my longest stall and it was the only thing that kept me sane.

anders_vermeulen is right that the band matters more than the peak.

Disagreeing with this line: that gap is ordinary variance, not a contradiction between the lab and the certificate.

If the report gives a mass spectrum as well as UV purity, say so. Identity and relative quantity are separate claims and the log tracks both.

Correction: that threshold is your ICB’s, not a national one. They differ and they change by year.

permalink

comment on lowest effective dose — 2 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/maintenancephase · 1 points · 2 years ago

The habits from the losing phase are what carry it now. That is not inspirational, it is just what happened.

permalink

Push back: that is not a plateau, that is maintenance. You have arrived and you are describing it as a failure.

Kept every report as a PDF with the batch in the filename. Two years in, it is the most useful folder I own.
