Why two honest labs report different numbers on the same vial.

Start with the gradient. A shallower slope holds compounds on the column longer and usually separates close-eluting species better. A steeper one gets you a faster run and a fatter peak. If a related substance elutes near the main peak, one method resolves it and reports it separately, the other absorbs part of it into the main peak.

Then integration. Where the baseline is drawn under a shoulder is a decision made by a person or by a piece of software configured by a person. It moves the number.

A point or two of spread between services on this assay is ordinary. Treating one lab as ground truth is how people end up in arguments with suppliers that neither side can win.

GLP-1 and GIP agonism cover appetite and insulin secretion in ways that are now reasonably well characterised. Glucagon receptor agonism is the third leg and it is associated with increased energy expenditure and with effects on hepatic fat.

Mechanistically that is why this compound reads as a different proposition rather than a stronger version of a dual agonist. Clinically, the size and durability of that difference in humans is precisely what is not yet established, and anyone telling you otherwise is filling a gap with confidence.

I would not change the programme on the strength of one scan. The measurement error is larger than the effect you are reacting to.

Standardise the conditions: same lab, same fasting state, same rough time of day, same point in the week, similar hydration. Take a baseline before you change anything. Repeat any surprising value before acting on it. Change one thing at a time if you want to attribute anything to it.

Do that and a year of panels is a trend. Skip it and a year of panels is a collection of unrelated mornings, which is what most of the alarmed posts here are actually describing.

DEXA has a meaningful coefficient of variation, and it differs between machines and protocols. Comparing scans from different clinics adds a systematic offset that is invisible on the report.

A step up is followed by a rough window — commonly reflux arriving the day after the shot and easing by day four, worst in the first fortnight, then flattening out. At a stable dose it usually settles further. Constipation and fatigue tend to track intake and fluid rather than the compound directly, which is why the unglamorous answers work.

What sits outside that pattern: severe pain, symptoms that appear from nowhere weeks into a stable dose, or anything getting worse rather than better over a month. None of that is a board question and none of us can answer it for you.
