Thinking out loud about this: 28 days at room temp after first puncture — where does that number come from.

The numbers the title promised, since a headline without them is worthless: 28 days. Everything below is context for those.

Research-use-only material is not approved for human use, so treat everything in this thread as arithmetic about solutions rather than instructions for a person.

Reconstituted at 1mL when I meant to use a different volume. Caught it because the units looked wrong on the barrel. Now I write 10mg/mL on the glass before I put the cap back.

Adding more water does not change how much peptide is in the vial. It changes the concentration, which changes the volume you draw for the same amount. That is the entire relationship.

Right, and the arithmetic behind it: 15mg in 3mL is 5mg/mL, so 5mg is 100 units.

The whole calculation, once, with real numbers.

You have a 10mg vial. You add 2mL of bacteriostatic water. Concentration is mass over volume: 5mg/mL. A U-100 insulin syringe is graduated at 100 units per millilitre, so one unit is 0.01mL.

To draw 2mg you need 2 divided by 5 millilitres, which is 40 units on the barrel. Write "5mg/mL" on the vial in marker before you put it away, and you never have to do this again for that vial.

The arithmetic and the technique. Bacteriostatic versus sterile water, reconstitution volume as a concentration choice, converting mg/mL into insulin-syringe units, dead space, swirl-not-shake, stopper coring, and how long a reconstituted vial is actually good for.
