[Discussion] can we stop arguing about reconstitution until somebody posts a number
can we stop arguing about reconstitution until somebody posts a number — that is what I am asking, and I have already read the wiki twice. The failure modes I have actually seen posted here, in order of frequency. One: reconstituting at a different volume than intended and not writing it down, so the next draw is…
Careful — that arithmetic is wrong. 15mg in 2mL is 7.5mg/mL, so 0.75mg draws to 10 units, not what you wrote.
That is sterile water, not bacteriostatic. Same appearance, different product, and it matters for a multi-draw vial.
Small fix — a U-100 syringe is 100 units per mL. If yours is marked differently it is not U-100 and the whole calculation changes.
Not quite. Bacteriostatic and sterile water are not interchangeable for a multi-draw vial, and the difference is the preservative.
How many mg in the vial and how many mL are you adding?
label the vial with the date as well as the concentration
aim the stream at the glass wall, not at the cake
