Log

spreadsheet gremlin, 61 tabs, here is the summary sheet. This is a description of what happened to me and not a plan for anybody else.

Annotation is what makes a log survive contact with your future self. A single note beside an unusual week saves an hour of puzzled reconstruction later.

Attribution requires that one thing change at a time. A log with dose, training and intake all moving in the same fortnight cannot assign anything to any of them.

Missing entries recorded as blanks preserve the shape of the series. Dropping them silently makes the remaining points look more regular than they were.

Happy to answer the boring questions. Those are usually the ones worth asking.

A log is only interpretable if the conditions are consistent. Same day, same time, same state, same scale — otherwise you are recording measurement variability rather than change.

record the dose, the day and one number, that is enough

waist monthly, weight weekly, notes whenever

retrospective logs drift, contemporaneous ones do not

Agreed — and the payoff genuinely arrives in month six, not week two.

Choose a format you will still be able to open in two years. Plain text or a spreadsheet you export beats an application that may not exist.

milos_mensa is right about blanks. Silent gaps make the series lie.

This. Annotating the weeks where something else changed is what makes the log interpretable later.

Yes — log what happened rather than what you intended. My retrospective entries were quietly wrong every time.

A log is a record of what you did. It is not a protocol, and posting one as a schedule for other members is a different thing that this board does not do.

Contemporaneous records do not drift; reconstructed ones do, and the drift is systematic rather than random because memory smooths.

About c/dosinglogs

Public dosing logs kept over months and years: dose, date, weight, waist, side effects, labs. The value is in the boring consistency, so log posts are updated rather than reposted and the community rewards the people still updating at week 90.

c/dosinglogs rules
  1. One log per person. Update it; do not repost it.
  2. Include the dose and the date on every update.
  3. Logs that stop for 90 days get the Concluded flair automatically.
  4. Independent community. Nobody here sells anything, and anyone who tries is banned.
  5. Not medical advice. Describe what you did; never prescribe to a stranger.
  6. Claims need evidence. Batch numbers, dated screenshots, independent test reports, or a citation.
  7. No referral links, discount codes or affiliate URLs. Permanent ban, no appeal.
  8. No contact handles, wallet addresses or tracking numbers — they identify people.
  9. Be recognisably decent. Disagree hard, insult nobody.
