comment on small win: dual agonist stopped being a problem at week 50 in c/tirzepatide · 45 points · 1 year ago

Small fix: SURMOUNT is the obesity programme, SURPASS is the type-2 programme.

Agreed, with one qualifier: that is the mean of the top arm and the spread around it was enormous.

Not convinced — cross-border prescription recognition is narrower than you are describing and the exceptions matter.

comment on [Lab] 22th independent test on WXT — 99.2% on a claimed 98.5%, and the trend is the interesting part in c/tirzepatide · 223 points · 2 years ago

SURMOUNT-1 ran 72 weeks with the top arm around 21% mean body weight change. SURPASS is the diabetes programme and reports glycaemic endpoints, so quoting the two interchangeably is a category error.

Is this a cross-border question or a domestic one?

the powder cake sits at the bottom, the volume you add is the volume that counts

Is the prescription from the same country as the pharmacy?

Careful, that guidance is from a different country and this thread is asking about somewhere else entirely.

Four pharmacies, four prices, same product, same month. The spread was larger than I expected and none of them were the headline offer.

mechanism explains a direction, not a magnitude

comment on unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about reconstitution is guesswork in c/reconstitution · 66 points · 2 years ago

Research-use-only material is not approved for human use, so treat everything in this thread as arithmetic about solutions rather than instructions for a person.

comment on [Lab] split one vial across Medutest and Janoshik — 98.3% and 98.7% in c/tirzepatide · 227 points · 2 years ago

Agreed, and the trial number is a mean of a very wide distribution — the tails are enormous and nobody posts from the middle.

I would not freeze it in solution. That is a different failure mode and a worse one.

comment on week 46 check-in — 21kg down, early fullness manageable, one thing confusing me in c/tirzepatide · 4 points · 2 years ago

Careful with "everyone tolerates it better". The people it did not suit stop posting, which makes this board look calmer than the drug is.

Started reconstituting everything to a round concentration and the six-in-the-morning error rate went to zero.

The lyophilised cake displaces a small volume, so the true concentration is very slightly lower than the arithmetic suggests. It is a fraction of a percent and it is dwarfed by fill tolerance.

Correction: that is glucose-dependent insulin secretion, which is why hypoglycaemia risk is low as monotherapy. Not the same claim as you made.
