comment on [Discussion] non-peptide agonism is a genuinely different engineering problem in c/orforglipron · 1 points · 12 days ago
oral and non-peptide is the whole engineering story
Agreed, and it is why the oral peptide comparison keeps misleading people.

It is a non-peptide small-molecule agonist at the GLP-1 receptor. That is a substantial medicinal chemistry achievement: getting a small molecule to activate a receptor evolved for a peptide ligand.
comment on reading non-peptide threads from 2024 and half of it aged badly in c/orforglipron · 1 points · 17 days ago
Same view. The analytical problem is different enough that the usual purity discussions here do not transfer cleanly.

comment on three years of small molecule threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/orforglipron · 84 points · 2 months ago
Went looking for independent testing on this and found essentially nothing, which was clarifying.

comment on what would you tell week-1 you about non-peptide in c/orforglipron · 13 points · 12 months ago
Holding off on any opinion until phase 3 reports. That is not a satisfying position and it is the honest one.

comment on [Discussion] ATTAIN is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/orforglipron · 4 points · 1 year ago
Disagree. You are comparing doses across a small molecule and a peptide, which is not a comparison of anything.
comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about ATTAIN until somebody posts a number in c/orforglipron · 0 points · 2 years ago
Phase 2 or phase 3?

identity testing on a small molecule is a different analytical problem
