comment on [TGA] the 2024 compounding rule change closed a whole access route overnight in c/glp1aus · 13 points · 1 days ago

Checked the shortage database myself instead of reading the coverage. Expected resolution date was right there and the panic thread was wrong.

the last mile is where most of the variance lives

comment on [Confirmed] cloned storefront, same product photos, different checkout in c/scamalerts · 20 points · 8 days ago

Nearly paid a cloned storefront.

Adding the practical version: buy small from anyone new, test it, then decide.

Never name an individual. The sidebar rule exists because the cost of being wrong falls on a person and the benefit of being right falls on nobody in particular.

comment on four accounts, same typo, same hour, all recommending the same shop in c/scamalerts · 5 points · 13 days ago

Correction: that domain is one character different from the one you posted, which is rather the point of this thread.

comment on the "our facility" photo on half these sites reverse-searches to a stock library in c/vendorvetting · 3 points · 14 days ago

Kept a spreadsheet of quoted versus actual lead time across 8 orders. The quoted number held.

comment on [PSA] "we are the manufacturer" plus a Gmail address is the whole tell in c/scamalerts · 4 points · 17 days ago

Never name an individual. The sidebar rule exists because the cost of being wrong falls on a person and the benefit of being right falls on nobody in particular.

comment on [Vendor] TFC quoted 11 days to Eastern Canada and hit it four times running in c/vendorvetting · 149 points · 27 days ago

Disagree that reviews are worthless. They are worthless when they say "fast shipping A+++". A dated one naming a compound and a document is evidence.

comment on New Zealand: shortage, and what it actually costs here in c/glp1aus · 68 points · 1 months ago

The national shortage database is a primary source with expected resolution dates attached. It is public, searchable, and consistently more accurate than reporting about it.

comment on [Discussion] lane is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/intlshipping · 7 points · 1 months ago

no tracking numbers, ever

permalink

comment on [Meta] proposal — a flair for compounding posts in c/glp1aus · 16 points · 1 months ago

Same. Private pricing varies here as much as anywhere and people assume it is fixed.

permalink

comment on [PSA] EMS is not what most of this community thinks it is in c/intlshipping · 52 points · 1 months ago

Not convinced by four data points. That is not a lane yet, it is an anecdote with a route attached.

comment on three years of cloned site threads, summarised so you do not have to read them in c/scamalerts · 8 points · 2 months ago

the pattern repeats because it works, not because people are stupid

permalink

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring reship at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/intlshipping · 27 points · 2 months ago

Disagree. That is a customs hold, not a carrier delay, and lumping them together makes the lane table wrong.

comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about cloned site until somebody posts a number in c/scamalerts · 10 points · 2 months ago

Asked a new shop for a batch-specific certificate before ordering. The reply was a generic catalogue page. I did not order.

never accuse an individual, describe what happened to you

Agreed. Dates and documents make a report. Adjectives make a thread.

the API source is the question nobody asks and everybody should

consistency across lots beats one spectacular result

comment on compounding is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/compounding · 11 points · 3 months ago

ask which facility, then ask for their testing

permalink

I would separate documentation from logistics. A supplier can be excellent at one and ordinary at the other, and averaging them hides it.

comment on reading order records threads from 2024 and half of it aged badly in c/vendorvetting · 61 points · 3 months ago

Careful. "Nobody has tested Amino Asylum" is a statement about this board, not about the supplier. Say the first thing, not the second.

compounded supply arrangements changed and the threads have not caught up

permalink

comment on [Question] is 98.0% actually fine or am I being sold a rounding error in c/vendorvetting · 13 points · 6 months ago

Agreed on buying small first. The cost of a test is small next to the cost of committing to a supplier you have not checked.

comment on genuine question about vendor that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/vendorvetting · 67 points · 7 months ago

what does the certificate actually carry — that is the whole question

Adding the practical version: ask for lead time, minimum quantity and the batch record in the same message. Three answers, one email.

comment on group buy — 11 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/scamalerts · 1 points · 7 months ago

Retitled from an accusation to a description.

This is the check that catches most of it, and it takes under a minute.

permalink

comment on someone explain vendor to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/vendorvetting · 1 points · 7 months ago

Cosigning on lot matching. It sounds trivial and it predicts almost everything else about how an operation is run.

permalink

comment on genuine question about PeptideMeter that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/vendorvetting · 7 points · 8 months ago

That is a report count, not a test count. The table lists both and they are very different numbers.

comment on help me understand shortage list, I have read the wiki twice in c/compounding · 7 points · 8 months ago

Yes.

Disagreeing with this bit: registration is not equivalence, and the two get run together constantly.

Is this a shop, a group buy, or an individual reseller? They fail in different ways.

permalink

comment on the telehealth question that gets asked weekly, answered properly in c/compounding · 6 points · 9 months ago

I would not read the price difference as a quality signal. Most of it is the consultation model, not the vial.

503A or 503B — do you know which?

permalink

comment on unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about carrier is guesswork in c/intlshipping · 92 points · 11 months ago

A quoted lead time is a commitment you can evaluate.

Adding the field everyone forgets — the month. Without it the report is not comparable to anything.

permalink

comment on [Meta] proposal — a flair for state board posts in c/compounding · 41 points · 11 months ago

503A is patient-specific, 503B is outsourcing facility, they are not the same thing

permalink

Do you have anything in writing from before the payment?

permalink

comment on the DHL thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/intlshipping · 10 points · 1 year ago

Disagree. That is a customs hold, not a carrier delay, and lumping them together makes the lane table wrong.
