comment on [Lane Report] Shanghai → UK, DHL, quoted 7 days, actual 9, cold pack solid in c/intlshipping · 8 points · 1 days ago

Split one order across two months on purpose to compare summer and winter. Four days apart, same carrier, same route.

permalink

comment on [TGA] the 2024 compounding rule change closed a whole access route overnight in c/glp1aus · 20 points · 2 days ago

Assumed the New Zealand position applied here. It does not, and someone corrected me politely with the actual source.

comment on [Stats] relative risk reduction sells papers, absolute risk reduction makes decisions in c/trialwatch · 27 points · 2 days ago

Went looking for the registered protocol to see whether the endpoint had changed. It had not, which was reassuring and worth checking.

comment on foam means you shook it. do not shake it in c/reconstitution · 73 points · 3 days ago

twice as much water halves the concentration and doubles the units for the same dose

permalink

comment on [Question] NZ unfunded means full price. is anyone actually paying that. in c/glp1aus · -30 points · 4 days ago

Compounded supply arrangements have changed materially in recent years. Advice predating that change describes a situation that no longer applies.

comment on half-life is 168 hours. that is why your injection day barely matters. in c/glp1science · 6 points · 4 days ago

Not convinced by the linearity assumption. Dose-response in this class is not linear and the trials show it.

permalink

comment on [PSA] research-use documentation is not a magic word in c/customs · 55 points · 5 days ago

This. Ordering from regional stock takes the entire question off the table, which is why it comes up in every one of these threads.

permalink

comment on [Question] does carrier choice matter more than origin city in c/intlshipping · 9 points · 5 days ago

This. A quoted lead time that holds is worth more than a fast one that does not.

permalink

comment on [Question] declared value — does under-declaring help or hurt in c/customs · 17 points · 7 days ago

I would not read a single clearance experience as a rule. Sample size one, and customs is not deterministic.

permalink

comment on why does GIP agonism seem to reduce nausea rather than add to it in c/glp1science · 21 points · 7 days ago

Read the primary paper after arguing about the summary for a fortnight. The discussion section said almost the opposite of what the thread had concluded.

permalink

comment on [Press Release] new phase 3 numbers, no publication yet, calm down in c/trialwatch · 2 points · 7 days ago

Absolute or relative risk reduction?

permalink

comment on [Explainer] units are volume, mg are mass, this is the #1 error on this site in c/reconstitution · 15 points · 12 days ago

Bacteriostatic water contains benzyl alcohol as a preservative, which is what makes repeated entry into the same vial reasonable.

Right, and the arithmetic behind it: 30mg in 2mL is 15mg/mL, so 0.75mg is 5 units.

permalink

comment on intent-to-treat vs per-protocol explains half the arguments on this site in c/trialwatch · 22 points · 12 days ago

Is that intention-to-treat or completers?

permalink

comment on [Discussion] every answer here is jurisdiction-specific and we keep forgetting in c/customs · 4 points · 13 days ago

Ordered from the warehouse in Canada and the whole import question disappeared. 3 days, domestic, no notice, nothing to manage.

a streamlined authority code is not the same as a general listing

trial populations get support that nobody on this board gets

permalink

comment on shipping — 24 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/intlshipping · 2 points · 1 months ago

Median transit is the useful statistic. The minimum is a story about one shipment and the mean is dragged around by a single hold.

permalink

comment on does EMS actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/intlshipping · 96 points · 2 months ago

Four observations is not a distribution. The lane tables here only became predictive once individual routes had a dozen or more reports behind them.

permalink

comment on [Meta] the carrier rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/intlshipping · 64 points · 2 months ago

Same lane in a different season for comparison?

permalink

comment on unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about baseline labs are guesswork in c/bloodwork · 14 points · 2 months ago

Different laboratories use different assay platforms with different calibration. Comparing across labs adds a systematic offset that is invisible on the report.

rigid outer packaging is the cheapest quality signal there is

permalink

comment on incretin: what the trials say vs what this community says in c/glp1science · 19 points · 2 months ago

GIP receptor biology is genuinely unsettled — there is a live argument about agonism versus antagonism at the receptor — and the clinical results are

ingrid_correia is right that mechanism gives direction and not magnitude. Worth pinning.

permalink

comment on genuine question about TGA that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/glp1aus · 8 points · 2 months ago

Registration by the therapeutic goods regulator establishes that a product may be supplied. Subsidy listing is a separate decision about public funding, with its own criteria and its own timetable.

comment on [Meta] the ALT rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/bloodwork · 163 points · 3 months ago

Time of day, fasting state, hydration and recent exercise all move common markers. Standardising the draw conditions is free and it removes most of the apparent variability.

permalink

comment on [Meta] the ALT rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/bloodwork · 14 points · 3 months ago

Disagree with reading anything into that. One value, one morning, and you changed two other things in the same window.

permalink

comment on [Meta] the customs rule is doing its job and people should stop complaining in c/customs · 19 points · 3 months ago

Not convinced. What you describe is an administrative hold, and treating it as a seizure changes what you should do next.

permalink

comment on reading seizure threads from 2024 and half of it aged badly in c/customs · 11 points · 3 months ago

Disagree — that is the position in one country and this thread is about another. They are genuinely different.

permalink

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring packaging at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/intlshipping · 11 points · 3 months ago

That is the quoted lead time, not the observed transit. Both belong in the report and they are different columns.

permalink

comment on SELECT: what the trials say vs what this community says in c/trialwatch · 22 points · 3 months ago

A confidence interval is the range of effects compatible with the data. Two trials with overlapping intervals have not disagreed, whatever their point estimates look like next to each other.

comment on help me understand receptor, I have read the wiki twice in c/glp1science · 1 points · 4 months ago

Small fix — it slows gastric emptying, it does not halt it, and the distinction matters for the mechanism you are proposing.

permalink

comment on how much of what we believe about transit time actually comes from reship threads in c/intlshipping · 9 points · 4 months ago

Careful — the supplier does not control the last mile and most of your variance is in it.

permalink

comment on SURPASS — 24 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/trialwatch · 44 points · 4 months ago

That is a relative risk reduction. Quoting it without the absolute numbers overstates the case considerably.

permalink

comment on carrier — 23 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/intlshipping · 15 points · 5 months ago

Was it shipped from a regional warehouse or from origin?

permalink

comment on how much of what we believe about eGFR actually comes from ferritin threads in c/bloodwork · 19 points · 5 months ago

Right, and weight loss itself moves several markers, so attribution is harder than these threads assume.

Do they publish a reship policy, and did you read it before ordering?
