comment on how much of what we believe about Australia actually comes from New Zealand threads in c/glp1aus · 241 points · 2 years ago

Correction: that is the registration decision, not the subsidy listing. They are made by different bodies.

Cosigning the four-week thing. It is a minimum interval, and treating it as a schedule to keep up with is how people end up miserable at 12.5.

comment on how much of what we believe about COA actually comes from area percent threads in c/coa · 123 points · 2 years ago

This. Area percent answers "what fraction of what the detector saw was the peak I wanted", and people read it as "how much peptide is in the vial".

Is water content on the document? It changes your concentration arithmetic.

Not quite. Two labs with different gradients can resolve a close-eluting impurity differently and both be reporting honestly.

What did they say when you asked for the method line?

comment on [Discussion] the related substances advice in here is 3 years out of date in c/coa · 622 points · 2 years ago

The document I was worried about turned out to be a re-issue with a later creation date. Asked, got the original, entirely ordinary.

Appetite effect for me is flat across seven days. On sema it was a wave. Same person, different molecule.

comment on [Discussion] we are measuring testing at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/vendorvetting · 39 points · 2 years ago

Inter-lab variance on this assay runs a point or two either way. Two services disagreeing by that much is agreement, not a discrepancy, and treating it otherwise starts pointless arguments.

Independent testing is worth more than a supplied certificate for one structural reason: the chain of custody. A member who buys, ships and pays is testing the same thing you would receive.

comment on unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about water content is guesswork in c/coa · 38 points · 2 years ago

Careful — "the metadata looks odd" is a reason to ask a question, not a conclusion. Re-issues are ordinary.

comment on someone explain Janoshik to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/vendorvetting · 150 points · 2 years ago

The wider-market rows in the directory carry a band and a report count and nothing else, deliberately. Anything more would be manufacturing precision that the evidence does not support.

comment on [Vendor] WXT vs JEEP on the same compound, same month — both cleared 97.0% in c/coa · 2.5k points · 2 years ago

Spent four months confusing area% and mass% in every post I made here. One explainer thread and it clicked permanently.

comment on [Lab] 16th independent test on WXT — 99.3% on a claimed 98.5%, and the trend is the interesting part in c/coa · 1 points · 2 years ago

I would not read a rounded figure as evasive. Plenty of documents round to one decimal as house style.

The thing that decided it for me was that SSA answered a column-and-gradient question in writing without asking why I wanted to know.

LC-MS gives you identity; UV purity gives you a relative quantity. A document with the first and not the second, or the reverse, is answering half the question.
