BPC is the other bad case. the sequence gets written at least three ways and the acetate versus free-acid distinction is regularly dropped entirely.

also worth saying this is BPC, where the naming and sequence mess in the supply chain is bad enough that "under claim" sometimes means "not quite the same product". edit: not alleging that here, just noting the compound makes the question harder.

The order I actually check things in, for anyone building a process rather than asking about one supplier.

First, the record: source page, verification log, and how many separate lots have been tested rather than how many tests exist. Second, the paperwork: ask for a batch-specific certificate and see what comes back and how fast. Third, the logistics: quoted lead time, minimum quantity, which lines are held in regional stock. Fourth, buy small and test it yourself.

Nothing in that list is exotic and all of it is answerable before you spend real money. Most of the disappointment posts on this board skipped step two.

Kept every report as a PDF with the batch in the filename. Two years in, it is the most useful folder I own.

The tolerability tables were more informative than the headline numbers, which is usually the case and never how it gets summarised.

This is the whole method in one sentence. Everything else in the thread is elaboration.

Date of analysis anchors the result to a manufacturing period. A two-year-old result is evidence about two years ago and should be read that way.

A single figure with no batch identifier is about a vial nobody can locate. Add the batch and it becomes about a lot. Add the claimed figure from the certificate and it becomes a comparison. Add the service and the date and it becomes reproducible. Say that you paid for it yourself and it becomes independent.

Five extra fields, thirty seconds of typing, and the difference between a comment and a row in the log that will still be useful in three years.

I would not extrapolate a mechanism from a model system to a person in one step, which is what that comment does.

Was there identity confirmation, or only a purity figure?

Did the lot code on the vial match the paperwork?

Fixing my own comment above: I said 5 orders and it is 21. The pattern is the same, the count was wrong.

Amino Asylum came up in three threads the week I was ordering and I could not find a single independent result for them anywhere. Went with a documented supplier instead.

Small fix — the figure you quoted is the claimed purity from the certificate, and the independent result was the higher of the two.

Careful with the trend claim. Four results over two years is a very sparse series to draw a line through.

Regulatory classification differs between jurisdictions and has changed in several of them recently. Any answer to a status question needs a place and a date attached.

Are you comparing against a GLP-1 monotherapy result? They are not comparable.

The three questions, kept separate, because this board runs them together constantly.

Identity: is this the sequence I ordered? Answered by mass spectrometry against a theoretical mass. Quantity: how much peptide is in the vial? Answered by net peptide content, not by area percent. Stability: what happens to it in solution over time? Answered by a stability statement with conditions attached, and almost never asked for.

A certificate that answers one of the three is common. One that answers all three is rare and worth choosing a supplier over. Nothing here is approved for human use in any case, so all three are questions about material rather than about anything else.

This. Ask for the batch record. The ones who send it inside a day have told you more than any review could.

Inter-lab variance on this assay runs a point or two either way. Two services disagreeing by that much is agreement, not a discrepancy, and treating it otherwise starts pointless arguments.

Agreed — and the corollary is that "no data" and "bad data" have to be written differently. The table separates them for exactly that reason.

Twenty suppliers have enough independent results, over enough separate lots, over enough time, that the log says something. Those get a page, a test table and a link to their own storefront so you can compare their claims with the record.

The rest — nearly two hundred names — get a row, a band and a report count. Not because they are bad, but because two results is an anecdote about a vial. Manufacturing a score out of that would make the whole directory worthless, and the contrast is the point.
