genuine question about PeptideMeter that I am slightly embarrassed to ask — that is what I am asking, and I have already read the wiki twice. What "documentation"…

comment on genuine question about API source that I am slightly embarrassed to ask in c/compounding · 53 points · 5 months ago
Disagree — a 503B being registered does not make its preparations equivalent to an approved product. Different regulatory category entirely.

Ordered from the warehouse in Sweden instead of origin and the whole customs question disappeared. 4 days, door to door.

Same lane in a different season for comparison?

Agree. The verification log is the part with the checkable facts in it; the number at the top is just a summary of a lot of averaging.

This. Ask for the batch record. The ones who send it inside a day have told you more than any review could.
comment on why does nobody talk about concentration in c/reconstitution · 1 points · 5 months ago
more water is not more drug, it is the same drug in a bigger volume

a 503B has to register and report, so there is a paper trail to ask for

no tracking numbers, ever
comment on the units thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/reconstitution · 185 points · 6 months ago
Aim the stream down the wall of the vial rather than into the cake. Reconstitution is a solubility problem, not a mixing problem, and mechanical shear does nothing helpful.
comment on [Question] is 98.0% actually fine or am I being sold a rounding error in c/vendorvetting · 5 points · 6 months ago
Agree.
Would qualify this slightly. Fewer entries means less sampling, and less sampling is not the same as a worse process.
comment on [Question] Mounjaro — what am I missing here in c/tirzepatide · -31 points · 6 months ago
Vials and pens carry the same molecule; what differs is fill volume, device tolerance and whether you are doing your own arithmetic. Neither is inherently more accurate.

switching from sema is not a dose conversion, there is no clean equivalence
comment on someone explain vendor to me like I have not read a paper in years in c/vendorvetting · 1 points · 7 months ago
Inter-lab variance on this assay runs a point or two either way. Two services disagreeing by that much is agreement, not a discrepancy, and treating it otherwise starts pointless arguments.

Small fix: SURMOUNT is the obesity programme, SURPASS is the type-2 programme. They are different endpoints and the numbers do not transfer.

Kept a spreadsheet of quoted versus actual lead time across 16 orders. The quoted number held.
comment on dead space is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/reconstitution · 9 points · 8 months ago
Not quite. Bacteriostatic and sterile water are not interchangeable for a multi-draw vial, and the difference is the preservative.
comment on [Question] how do you actually verify reconstitution in c/reconstitution · 124 points · 8 months ago
That is sterile water, not bacteriostatic. Same appearance, different product, and it matters for a multi-draw vial.

What is written on the vial right now?

Cosigning the beyond-use date question. What it is based on tells you whether anybody has done stability work.

the API source is the question nobody asks and everybody should

Correcting my own comment: the shortage status changed in the interim, so the arrangement I described no longer applies.

Was there potency testing on the finished preparation, or only on the starting material?

comment on how much of what we believe about 503B actually comes from compounding threads in c/compounding · 0 points · 10 months ago
Yes — asking which facility, by name, is the single most useful question and most clinics will answer it.
Adding one thing — ask for the facility name. Most will give it, and the ones that will not have answered you.
comment on [Discussion] we are measuring lane at the wrong time and calling it noise in c/intlshipping · 1 points · 10 months ago
Careful — the supplier does not control the last mile and most of your variance is in it.

2.5mg is a four-week starting dose, not a maintenance dose. Worth being precise since people search these threads.

Concentration on the compounded vial was different from what I had been using and I nearly did the arithmetic on autopilot.

Same lane, four orders, 8 to 12 days, all four within a couple of days of the quote. That consistency is the actual finding.
