comment on [Discussion] telehealth is doing more work than we give it credit for in c/compounding · -22 points · 5 months ago

Compounded preparations are not approved products and carry no bioequivalence claim. That is a statement about regulatory category, not about quality.

Yes. The shortage list is the legal hinge for the whole arrangement and its status is public.

if a clinic will not name the facility, that is your answer

Who is the prescriber, and are they the same organisation as the pharmacy?

comment on how much of what we believe about gas fees actually comes from confirmations threads in c/cryptopay · 1 points · 6 months ago

A test transaction costs one extra network fee and verifies the address, the network and the recipient’s crediting process before the main amount moves.

comment on mg/mL — 16 things I got wrong before I got it right in c/reconstitution · 33 points · 6 months ago

Correction: that gives 60 units, not what you have written. 10mg into 3mL is 3.33mg/mL and the division follows from there.

Yes — a logger in the box turns a fortnight of speculation into a chart.

permalink

comment on the units thing finally clicked for me and I want to write it down in c/reconstitution · 246 points · 6 months ago

That only works if the fill weight is exactly the label weight, and it usually is not exactly anything.

Contemporaneous records do not drift; reconstructed ones do, and the drift is systematic rather than random because memory smooths.

Do you have the mass spectrum?

comment on [Discussion] can we stop arguing about packaging until somebody posts a number in c/coldchain · 14 points · 7 months ago

Regional stock changes the question rather than answering it: shorter lanes mean less exposure and fewer variables, which is why the warehouse question is worth asking before ordering in summer.

comment on [Lab] CPC orfo — Janoshik came back 98.3% against a claimed 97.5% in c/orforglipron · 6 points · 7 months ago

Disagree. You are comparing doses across a small molecule and a peptide, which is not a comparison of anything.

comment on [Question] dead space — what am I missing here in c/reconstitution · 8 points · 7 months ago

What concentration did you actually reconstitute at, rather than what did you intend to?

erez_perrin has the units point exactly right. They are a volume on the barrel and nothing else.

The transaction hash is the canonical receipt: it is public, verifiable by either party, and it is what a support query should quote.

Which network, exactly?

permalink

comment on dead space is the most under-discussed thing on this board in c/reconstitution · 33 points · 8 months ago

Aim the stream down the wall of the vial rather than into the cake. Reconstitution is a solubility problem, not a mixing problem, and mechanical shear does nothing helpful.

compounded is not generic, there is no equivalence claim

units are a volume on a U-100 syringe, not a dose

Agreed, and it is why the oral peptide comparison keeps misleading people.

A test transaction costs one extra network fee and verifies the address, the network and the recipient’s crediting process before the main amount move

Disagreeing here: that is a network fee at a busy hour and it is not the supplier’s doing.

permalink

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify data logger in c/coldchain · 99 points · 10 months ago

Not convinced. A warm pack on day six is expected behaviour from a pack designed for four.

permalink

comment on [Question] how do you actually verify units in c/reconstitution · 180 points · 10 months ago

if the maths gives you a fraction of a unit, change the concentration

Gel packs are designed for a duty cycle. A liquid pack at the end of a longer-than-expected transit is a pack behaving as specified, not evidence of an excursion in the vial.

comment on why does nobody talk about tendon in c/bpc157 · 31 points · 1 year ago

I would not extrapolate a mechanism from a model system to a person in one step, which is what that comment does.

permalink

comment on does compounding actually matter or is it forum lore at this point in c/compounding · 1 points · 1 year ago

Not convinced. You are comparing a compounded concentration with a branded one and assuming they match.

permalink

A token symbol identifies an asset, not a network. The same symbol commonly exists on several chains with incompatible address formats, and sending across that boundary is generally unrecoverable.

comment on unpopular opinion: most of what gets said here about units are guesswork in c/reconstitution · 72 points · 1 year ago

Disagree with the "more water is safer" framing. It is not safer, it is just a different number to divide by.

comment on tendon: what the trials say vs what this community says in c/bpc157 · 100 points · 1 year ago

Careful. Regulatory status differs by jurisdiction and has changed; a confident global statement is going to be wrong somewhere.

Cosigning on cross-border prescriptions. The rules exist and they are narrower than the summaries suggest.

permalink

comment on [Question] Spain — has anyone got a straight answer on 503B in c/compounding · 49 points · 1 year ago

Yes — asking which facility, by name, is the single most useful question and most clinics will answer it.

permalink

comment on how much of what we believe about gas fees actually comes from USDC threads in c/cryptopay · 45 points · 1 year ago

Agreed. Network first, address second, amount third, and in that order every time.

Went and read the primary rodent papers after arguing about a summary for a week. They are much narrower than the threads suggest.

Correcting myself upthread: the criterion I quoted was updated for this year.

A beyond-use date derived from published stability data means something different from one assigned by default rule. Asking which is a fair question and the answer is usually available.
